For over a decade\, the band has brought this music to Phans with the focus\, the energy\, and the respect it demands. We take our Phish covers pretty serious around here. \nThe band has an extensive musical history including a touring production of Gamehendge (The Man who Stepped into Yesterday)\, an Annual Hippy Xmas holiday event\, and countless shows at festivals and clubs. In 2019\, the band appeared at Summerfest in Milwaukee opening for Dark Star Orchestra. \nGuitarist Mike Scieszinski founded the group in Madison\, WI in 2009. The very first show was held at The High Noon Saloon in Madison. \n“I decided early on in this band that we wouldn’t try and recreate entire Phish shows. Instead\, we would focus on using the song forms to improvise with our own voices\, work hard on vocals\, and nail down the composed parts. I hope that’s what Phish would want out of a band that plays their music.” URL:https://www.high-noon.com/event/phun-a-tribute-to-phish-2/ LOCATION:High Noon Saloon\, 701 East Washington Avenue\, Madison\, 53703 ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/jpeg:https://www.high-noon.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Phun-HNS-900x600-WEB.jpg END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART;TZID=America/Chicago:20230402T190000 DTEND;TZID=America/Chicago:20230402T233000 DTSTAMP:20240328T134541 CREATED:20230310T160031Z LAST-MODIFIED:20230313T152458Z UID:8306-1680462000-1680478200@www.high-noon.com SUMMARY:Miles Over Mountains Album Release DESCRIPTION:  \n\n\nBAG POLICY\nBags (max size 12″ x 6″ x 12″) are allowed and will be searched upon entry. They might have changed HEALTH for the better. \nThree years after VOL.4 :: SLAVES OF FEAR\, the L.A. trio’s ferocious entry into the world of heavy music\, HEALTH return with the second half of their DISCO4 series. On the first installment in 2020\, they swapped remixes for original collaborations with Perturbator\, 100 Gecs and JPEGMAFIA. \nA whole lot went to hell in the meantime\, forcing the band to re-invent how they wrote music together. For DISCO4 :: PART II they cut it fast and mean\, recruiting both legends and nascent contenders of heavy music and its many peripheral genres. \nThe centerpiece of DISCO4 :: Part II is the Nine Inch Nails collaboration “ISN’T EVERYONE\,” which re-unites HEALTH with their early-career arena tourmates. The mesh between Trent Reznor’s growls and Jake Duzsik’s gossamer melodies—all over a gigantic synth barrage—feels like a new moment in industrial music. \nOn “COLD BLOOD\,” their latest single with metal titans Lamb of God\, HEALTH show they can devote themselves to a genre and detonate it all in the same track. Its blistering heaviness juxtaposed against album cuts like the raucous “GNOSTIC FLESH/MORTAL HELL” (with noise-rap banshee Backxwash and the virtuosically scabrous trio Ho99o9) or the contemplative “STILL BREATHING” (co-piloted with teenage post-punk experimentalist Ekkstacy)\, demonstrates the breadth of HEALTH’s sonic palette and ability to incorporate what heavy music looks like today and going forward. \nFrom their twitchy 2007 debut\, through the groundbreaking 2012 score for Rockstar Games’ Max Payne 3 and 2015’s DEATH MAGIC\, multi-instrumentalists/producers Jacob Duzsik and John Famiglietti\, and drummer Benjamin Miller\, snuck beauty and rigor into blinding noise. They draped moody violence over trap beats and warehouse rave sounds alike. \nHEALTH are not only making the heaviest\, most genre-obliterating music of their career. They’re documenting just how insane it feels to be alive right now. From the depth and energy of funk and rock\, down the the melodic edge of R&B and folk. As a songwriter\, she has garnered a reputation for her specific brand of political and personal lyricism\, which Vice’s Noisey described as ‘Flipping off Authority one note at a time”. \n“When I was a kid\, my dad was in this tiny fringe political group called Democratic Socialists of America” explains songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Rachel Baiman. “That was considered really extreme\, and something I didn’t tell my friends about. Now my generation has had to wake up to the intensity of our own economic oppression. We sit around talking about how anyone affords to buy a house\, and how we can get rich people to pay for our albums”\, she laughs. Baiman finds hope in this shared experience as a mechanism for activism. On Common Nation of Sorrow\, Baiman’s third LP\, she tells stories of American capitalism\, and the individual and communal devastation it manifests. \nIn contrast with her previous work\, Baiman is the sole producer of Common Nation of Sorrow. After recording for twelve days in Nashville with Grammy-Award-winning engineer Sean Sullivan\, Baiman traveled to Portland\, OR\, where she spent two weeks mixing the record with famed engineer and producer Tucker Martine (My Morning Jacket/The Decemberists/First Aid Kit).\nOn “Common Nation of Sorrow”\, Baiman has found a production style to match her straightforward writing. Baiman displays a certain self-awareness and comfort with the inability to be all things\, while simultaneously pushing to new heights with her message\, and delivering a heartbreaking\, albeit beautiful\, assessment of her country. \nBarbaro \nBarbaro’s musical vision explores their collective life experiences through intricate instrumentation\, creatively bending traditional music into a style that is all their own.  The Minneapolis-Winona based rising stars have created their eclectic sound through original songwriting craft\, with inspiration derived from bluegrass\, jazz and chamber music. Their new album\, Dressed in Roses\, released January 2020\, “Stands as a true testament to their musical identity and the sound that has launched one of the Midwest’s most in-demand acoustic acts.” URL:https://www.high-noon.com/event/rachel-baiman-and-barbaro/ LOCATION:High Noon Saloon\, 701 East Washington Avenue\, Madison\, 53703 ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/png:https://www.high-noon.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Web-6.png END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART;TZID=America/Chicago:20230413T200000 DTEND;TZID=America/Chicago:20230413T233000 DTSTAMP:20240328T134541 CREATED:20230202T160045Z LAST-MODIFIED:20230313T155008Z UID:8226-1681416000-1681428600@www.high-noon.com SUMMARY:80’s Pop Drag Nightfeaturing VideoStar DESCRIPTION:  \n\n\nBAG POLICY\nBags (max size 12″ x 6″ x 12″) are allowed and will be searched upon entry. Built around his inviting voice and wrapped in warm textures\, his self-titled sophomore full-length builds his most engaging world yet. It lives in a place between darkness and hopefulness with unshakeable melodies at its heart. “Melody is what makes words fall out of my mouth. It’s disarming. When I find a melody that represents my internal world\, I drop my guard. I allow the words to appear out of thin air without judgement. A lot of these songs came to life that way. I wasn’t trying to make anything\, but the songs became a home for words that I wasn’t yet ready to write on the page\,” MacDonald says. \nThe past few years haven’t allowed for much escape from our interior worlds. There’s been a lot to move through\, and many things can be true at once. This album lives at the sometimes-tense intersection of those truths – loving someone dearly while being pulled toward something new\, feeling joy in the melancholy\, a gratitude for deep friendship and an uncertainty of one’s place in it. \nThe album is also alive with the people and places that surrounded its creation. Vocals and acoustic guitars were recorded near Riding Mountain National Park in a woodstove-heated cabin during one of Manitoba’s coldest winters in years. Bass and drums were tracked at Breakglass Studios in Montreal\, a room that already felt familiar from falling in love with the records of tour-mate Leif Vollebekk. Final overdubbing took place at Monarch Studios in Vancouver surrounded by trusted engineers and friends. And constant inspiration was found in his circle of Winnipeg creators working away on their own projects. Like The Big Pink house – Boy Golden\, Slow Spirit\, Roman Clarke\, Kris Ulrich and others dropped in on each other to share demos and often lend their sounds to each other’s albums. \nBeyond his hometown\, Field Guide has had the opportunity to meet some heroes and new friends. He’s supported Leif Vollebekk\, Bahamas\, SYML\, Wild Rivers\, JP Saxe and Penny & Sparrow on their tours this year. He’s built a legion of fans online and on the road. So\, while this is a solo album that invites the listener inside Field Guide’s inner monologue world\, it really is meant to be lived in together. “These are the truest\, rawest songs that I’ve ever written. I’ve never felt so sure about something I’ve made before. And now\, it’s yours.” URL:https://www.high-noon.com/event/field-guide/ LOCATION:High Noon Saloon\, 701 East Washington Avenue\, Madison\, 53703 ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/png:https://www.high-noon.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Web-Photo.png END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART;TZID=America/Chicago:20230415T193000 DTEND;TZID=America/Chicago:20230415T233000 DTSTAMP:20240328T134541 CREATED:20230110T180734Z LAST-MODIFIED:20230313T155117Z UID:8152-1681587000-1681601400@www.high-noon.com SUMMARY:Bongzilla DESCRIPTION:  \n\n\nBAG POLICY\nBags (max size 12″ x 6″ x 12″) are allowed and will be searched upon entry. Very little is known about the early years of the band except for their appearances on a host of split and EP releases between 1996 and 1999\, the first being Mixed Bag on Rhetoric Records in 1996. Following a split with MeatJack another 7″ EP entitled Hemp For Victory (Named after the vintage educational/propaganda film of the same name) was released on Thunder Lizard. Two more splits followed the same year and eventually Bongzilla was signed to Relapse Records. \nThe first release on this label was Methods for Attaining Extreme Altitudes released on CD on 27 January 1998. The band at this point made yearly appearances at the Milwaukee Metalfest\, notably 1999 and 2000. The band’s debut studio album Stash saw it’s release on 20 April 1999 to positive reviews. A split with Corrupted\, Noothgrush and Dystopia entitled Twin Threat To Your Sanity followed. \nThe band’s second album saw release via Howling Bull America (With a reissue three years later via Relapse). Apogee was released on 11 May 2001 and showcased three new songs along with live recordings from 1998. A compilation of all of the band’s EPs and splits to that point entitled Shake: The Singles saw release the next year. The band’s third album Gateway saw release via Relapse on 3 September 2002. \nAmerijuanican and Hiatus (2003 – 2009) \nBongzilla would begin 2003 as part of the Relapse Contamination Festival\, with their performance being released as a live album the next year. The band sporadically played shows and tours\, with notable appearances at various festivals. \nA lineup change prompted one Dixie Dave Collins to join the band as their bassist\, leading them to record the band’s fourth album. Amerijuanican was released via Relapse on 27 September 2005 to positive reviews and featured a cover of “Champagne and Reefer” by Muddy Waters. The band toured and remained active until 2009 when the group quietly took a hiatus\, their last known show being Forward Fest alongside the likes of Bob Mould\, Detroit Cobras and Neko Case to name a few.\nBarbarian Records would reissue the Shake compilation as Nuggets in 2007 with three bonus tracks while Relapse would reissue Stash with the Methods for Attaining Extreme Altitudes as bonus tracks. \nReturn (2015 – Present)| \nIn April 2015 it was announced Bongzilla was reforming with the Gateway lineup\, first announcing a tour of Europe including dates at Heavy Days in Doomtown and Temples Festival along with a single date in NYC. The band followed up with a four-date tour of the West Coast USA\, a tour of the east coast USA and an appearance at Desertfest Belgium. \nBongzilla would follow with a tour of the United States alongside Black Cobra\, Lo-Pan\, Against The Grain and Kings Destroy the next year and make an appearance at Maryland Deathfest. The band toured the USA again that fall with Wizard Rifle and Buzzoven on select dates. \nBongzilla began 2017 with a local show in Wisconsin before embarking on another European tour\, playing the likes of Roadburn Festival\, DesertFest Berlin\, DesertFest London\, KrisionFest (Their first ever appearance in Spain) and have begun working on material for a new album. Bongzilla have also set course for a 2018 European tour with Dopethrone and Sons of Otis. Bongzilla would tour and perform several festivals in 2018 and 2019. In late 2018 Totem Cat Records would release a 14 song compilation of the Bongzilla early split / live material under the album name Thank You Marijuana. In early 2020\, Bongzilla started their own label called Gungeon Records and released a re-issue of their classic album Apogee. \nHowever\, in March of 2020 it would be announced that Cooter Brown would retire from the band due to health and family reasons\, with Bongzilla choosing to continue as a thunderous three-piece. During Bongzilla’s first tour as a thunderous three in March of 2020\, the tour was cut short due to the coronavirus pandemic. A few months into the pandemic\, Bongzilla began rehearsing and recording for several different record projects – A limited Wake Brewing 7 inch\, a full length album titled Weedsconsin\, an LP split with the band Tons\, and a 7 Inch Split with Boris\, the first of a 7 inch Split Series released on Gungeon Records. All projects were recorded at Future Apple Tree Studios in Rockford\, Illinois in October of 2020 by the legendary John Hopkins before his sudden and unexpected passing in the late fall of 2020. \nBongzilla announced signing to the Italian label – Heavy Psych Sounds on Janurary 21st of 2021. Bongzilla is preparing for the release of their new full length album Weedsconsin\, as well as a limited 7 Inch from Wake Brewing\, followed by the Bongzilla / Tons Split for the HPS series – Doom Sessions\, as well as the 7 inch split with Boris on Gungeon Records. Over the years\, the project has certainly grown beyond its “Bay Area garage band” roots and has been fortunate enough to reach people all over the world- enough so that Young eventually left her teaching job to pursue making music with a band full-time. \nWith a background in visual art\, art therapy/education\, and classical piano/violin\, Young aims to write emotive songs that capture colorful imagery\, uplift\, and tell stories. Their sound can be described as “instrumental progressive rock” but the music draws influence from many genres like Midwest emo and shoegaze and doesn’t try to adhere to one main sound. Young’s fluid and polyphonic fingerstyle approach to guitar is often described as very piano-like\, and although her playing at surface level is technical and intricate\, the music still aims to make people feel something and make people want to dance. \nThe band has released an EP Currents\, an acoustic EP\, and 2 full length albums Effloresce and Technicolor. Over time the sound has really transformed from its twinkly mathrock origins to a more evolved\, fuller\, more melodically complex sound that incorporates a myriad of tones and textures. There is currently one new album in the works\, which the band will be playing songs from. He taps his pen on his chin intensely\, contemplating the first and only line that reads: “I’m going down”. he stares down at his pathetic excuse for an opening line and calls it a night. “eh\, I’ll try again tomorrow” he says. This is his mantra. He didn’t know it then\, but that pathetic little line would be the birthplace of a little band called Mustard Service and that pathetic little line would be the opening line of a little album called Zest Pop.\n\nFor the next two years Marco Rivero and Armando Baeza (producer and former drummer) wrote and recorded the debut album “Zest Pop”\, bringing in their friends Gabriel Marinuchi (guitar)\, Augusti Di Catarina (bass\, backing vocals)\, and Leo Cattani (keys) to play the songs live as a full band. they played a few push-moshing\, beer-spilling\, gear-breaking\, cop-calling\, arrested-getting shows throughout Miami-Dade County\, managing to amass a small yet passionate fanbase in their home town. In those years\, GarageBand™ transitioned into ProTools™\, recordings evolved into mastered tracks\, and small house shows turned into packed venues.\n\nTheir Debut album was released in June of 2017\, relying solely on live shows and streaming platform algorithms for promotion and exposure. The algorithm gods took pity on these poor fools and granted them a world-wide audience over the span of the next three years\, leading into the release of their sophomore album titled “Ces’t La Vie” in March of 2020 URL:https://www.high-noon.com/event/mustard-service/ LOCATION:High Noon Saloon\, 701 East Washington Avenue\, Madison\, 53703 ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/png:https://www.high-noon.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Web-1.png END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART;TZID=America/Chicago:20230425T190000 DTEND;TZID=America/Chicago:20230425T210000 DTSTAMP:20240328T134541 CREATED:20230130T230008Z LAST-MODIFIED:20230313T155434Z UID:8222-1682449200-1682456400@www.high-noon.com SUMMARY:Smarty Pints Trivia DESCRIPTION:  \n\n\nBAG POLICY\nBags (max size 12″ x 6″ x 12″) are allowed and will be searched upon entry. Emerging on a fresh platform to share their unique blend of great American music. \nFormerly touring under the name “Blackfoot Gypsies”\, they have dropped the old name but kept the same spirit. A spirit arising from a life dedicated to Rock-n-Roll. The group established a loyal fanbase across the US and Europe\, while releasing a catalogue of music documenting their journey. After going through inevitable changes over the course of hundreds of shows and thousands of miles – it only felt right right to start a new book\, with a sharper sense of who they are and what they’re doing. \nDeeOhGee is now comprised of Matthew Paige\, Zack Murphy\, and Dylan Whitlow. Each member contributes songs and brings different musical expertise to the table. These 3 musicians cover a huge spectrum of instruments – everything from timpani to pianos and banjos to harmoniums. Every single note and voice you hear on their recordings\, is them. No studio musicians. They are beyond dedicated to their craft and eagerly work toward giving the world their life’s work. Collecting vibrations from every walk of life in this world and turning them into a hummable tune\, with a wink of humor. Now\, after all these years of honing their craft\, the music is a concentrated serum exported from their souls\, for all to share and enjoy. DeeOhGee is a band of people\, made of people\, for the people. Educators by day\, the band grew out of getting together to play for students at a staff variety show at Sauk Prairie Middle School where Ted Harter (lead vocals and rhythm guitar) is the principal and Hans Fester (drums\, harmonica\, vocals) is a Physical Education Teacher. Along the way Ted and Hans picked up two Sauk Prairie High School staff members: Vocal Music Teacher\, Matt Brennan (keys\, vocals) and School Counselor\, Owen Murphy (mandolin\, vocals). They began to play in earnest in 2016 for local events and at their home pub\, The Woodshed Ale House. Since that time Water Street Jacks have toured extensively in southeast Wisconsin playing large events such as Summerfest and Isenroo Music Festival\, legendary music bars such as the Come Back In and Up North Bar along with headlining Madison’s most beloved music venue\, the iconic High Noon Saloon. \nAll of the members have strong musical backgrounds. Harter grew up playing trombone\, singing and acting at Wabeno High School and milking cows to late 80’s/early 90’s country on the radio in his family’s dairy barn. Fester was a drummer and front man in punk bands in the late 80’s like Drop Forge and Skip Tracer out of Milwaukee. Murphy formed the bluegrass group Old Farm Dog with a lifelong friend a few years ago which was recognized in 2015 as Madison Area Music Awards Country/Bluegrass Performer of the Year. Brennan\, a Sauk Prairie native\, studied music at Drake University and has taken over a storied music program as the Vocal Music Teacher at Sauk Prairie High School; his musicals\, show choirs and vocal soloists routinely win competitions across Southern Wisconsin as well as in Illinois\, Iowa\, and Minnesota. Recently\, the band added bassist Hanjun Kim to the band. \nWhile their musical roots are different\, they share a love for the Americana\, folk and alt-country music that has a foundation laid by artists like John Prine\, Bob Dylan\, and Bruce Springsteen and has recently made a resurgence thanks to groups like The Avett Brothers\, Mumford and Sons\, The Head and the Heart\, The Lumineers\, and Old Crow Medicine Show. \nSince 2017\, the band has collaborated to write and play over a dozen original songs along with the unique covers they play. Restless Heart and Adalie (Murphy)\, River and Someday (Fester)\, and Where to Stay and Heart of the Wilderness (Harter) all pull together the musical backgrounds\, tastes\, and life experiences of this fun group of guys. Water Street Jacks prides itself on killer four-part harmonies\, devilish good looks\, and a fresh perspective on Americana music that is sure to please the most diverse audiences! Exceptions will be made for necessary medical equipment and bags for nursing mothers. We encourage you to pack light with only the necessities to make the entry process as smooth as possible. \n\n\nPAYMENT POLICY\nWe are a cashless facility meaning that we are unable to accept cash as a form of payment. Tall hats and even taller tales are woven into the fabric of The Lone Star State\, and singer-songwriter Jarrod Dickenson can spin a yarn with the best of them. Hailing from Waco\, now based in Nashville via Brooklyn\, Dickenson spends most of his time on the road bringing his own particular brand of soulful Americana to a wide variety of music loving audiences around the globe. \n“His songs carry an independent spirit and grit… a hard-bitten\, yet romantic eye that seems bred into Lone Star Songwriters” -Q Magazine \n“Jarrod Dickenson’s rootsy\, broad-ranged Americana draws deeply from tradition while forging all-new sounds.” – PopMatters \n“His deep\, emotional\, often luxurious voice envelops songs of love and loss\, enticing you into these stories.” – American Songwriter \nChris Kasper \nChris Kasper’s newest record\, Holysmoke\, is a treasure chest unto itself. It’s got groove\, guts & grace\, and is worth its weight in gold. The patchwork of genres that Kasper effortlessly weaves together reveals an even deeper dive into varied influences from rock n’ roll and dreamy pop\, to junkyard blues and country-folk. \nAnd it all began by the ocean. \nIn a rented seaside motel\, Kasper recalls\, “There were these three clocks in the room\, all ticking out of time. Before it drove me mad and I had to take out all the batteries\, there was a rhythm & a beat that became the base for a melody which I later wrote lyrics for.” Others were poems-turned-songs. Some tunes came by way of Nashville dive bars\, and more arose in a camper van traveling across West Texas. He eventually made it back to a countryside home outside of Philadelphia and started on production. \nHolysmoke has been a long time coming. Although complete\, the whole world took a pause during the pandemic\, and so it was kept at a low simmer for the sake of the song. It completes a trilogy\, of sorts\, with previous releases Bagabones (2012)\, and O\, The Fool (2016). As the final star in a constellation that’s bound by lyrical prowess\, deep-rooted rhythms\, and artful arrangements of strings and melodies\, this album shines bright. \nIf we’re living in the land of milk & honey\, Chris Kasper’s music is an island of coffee & weed! And at a moment when fresh\, timeless art is needed more than ever\, his work fills the cup & soothes the soul. \nElectric Blue Yonder \nA traveling troupe of intrepid space folk explorers\, Electric Blue Yonder (EBY) examines the mysteries of the universe and reports their findings through song. Described as “Real American Space Folk\,” the band draws its inspiration from the psychedelic folk\, surf\, and cosmic country rock of the 60s and the Space Age prog/art rock explorations of David Bowie and Pink Floyd\, all while shifting time to the early roots and parlour style guitar of the 20th century. The result is a genre-bending mix that captures a nostalgic familiarity while simultaneously transporting you into uncharted territory. \n“…a meditative mashup of trippy folk-rock psychedelia\, cut with a raw\, Alabama flavor befitting their roots. Captivating harmony vocals and skilled\, almost Nick Drake-like guitar fills complete the picture.” – Steve Morse\, longtime Boston Globe staff music writer who now teaches Rock History at Berklee College of Music \nThe band includes founders Beth and Johnny Veres\, who provide vocals and guitar\, and Russell Thomas Bush on bass\, with an expanding cast of talented musicians based on production scale. Beth met Johnny while back home for a summer between college and grad school and began playing in a reincarnated version of HellaKopta of Love (HOL)\, a progressive rock instrumental band from his days at Auburn University. They started writing songs inspired by roots music and harmony-driven vocals that outgrew the youthful experimentalism of HOL and retired from public performance for several years to incubate their newfound passion. In December 2015\, Beth and Johnny were married. By the spring of 2016\, they began performing as Blue Yonder\, working on orchestral arrangements for their songs. In early 2017\, Johnny asked Russell Thomas Bush\, a friend and former band mate of Beth from her Tuscaloosa days playing in the band Squirrelhouse\, to join them. Shortly after\, they recorded their first EP\, Born of the Sky\, in their historic home with the help of Technical Earth Recorder’s Robert Shimp. After Colorado and East coast runs touring the EP\, Blue Yonder added “Electric” to their name for the filming of an episode of the Zimmern List at Saw’s Juke Joint in 2018\, augmenting their sound with vital vibrations. \n“The emphasis is on the song\,” adds Johnny. “It’s a collective thing to create this music. We record with talented musicians in our community. We take traditional forms and use those as a springboard to explore new musical territory\, to examine the condition of our times from a critical distance and how our lives interconnect.” \nEBY debuted Between Space and Time (B/TST) on February 29\, 2020\, just two weeks before the pandemic shutdowns. As an anthology\, B/TST includes some of their earliest works interspersed with the ‘vital vibrations’ of what’s to come\, thematically centered on the relationships between people as they bump and collide through the Large Hadron Collider of Life. Their songwriting shines through with earnest lyrics and a powerful delivery through their unique harmonies. Ranging from the weird country of “Brand New Day” and traces of gypsy jazz in “Actions” to the sonically dark musings on mortality in “Epitaph” and the grooving portrait of cosmic love on “Your Light”\, the songs of Between Space and Time shine like the stars of a newly\, emerging constellation. At the core of the album\, the band hits their stride with laid-back rocker “Schtick Shift”\, the spacious\, Grateful Dead-esque “Bluster”\, and the boot-stomping storm of “Thunder Train.” \n“We wanted to make timeless music that future generations will seek out\,” said Beth about the band\, describing their style as Space Folk. “We try to be genuine in our approach to songwriting and lyrics.” \n“EBY is a diamond-bright exploration of rock’s past\, present and hopeful future. As saviors of the genre go\, they make a powerful argument that theirs is one of the few revolutions left worth signing up for…” – Blue Sullivan of Slant Magazine. Whether it’s The Beach Boys\, Bee Gees or First Aid Kit\, that sibling vocal blend is the secret sauce in some of the most spine-tingling moments in popular music. The Cactus Blossoms – Minneapolis-based brothers Page Burkum and Jack Torrey – offer compelling evidence that this tradition is alive and well\, with a deceptively unadorned musical approach that offers “creative turns of phrase\, gorgeous harmonies\, and an ageless sound” (NPR All Things Considered) \nTheir timeless sound and songwriting have earned them tour stints with artists such as Wilco\, Jenny Lewis and Lucius\, and a perfectly cast performance on David Lynch’s Twin Peaks. In 2022 the band released their full-length album\, One Day\, and an EP\, If Not For You (Bob Dylan Songs Vol. 1). \nTwo Runner \nTwo Runner is Paige Anderson and Emilie Rose. The American Roots duo from Northern California embody the hills they grew up in. Through the mediums of clawhammer banjo\, flatpicking guitar\, vocal harmonies\, and oldtime fiddle\, Two Runner puts a hip take on the Appalachian feel. \nFront woman Paige Anderson grew up touring in her family bluegrass band\, Anderson Family Bluegrass\, starting at the age of 9. The family of six traveled for about 12 years as Anderson Family Bluegrass and later The Fearless Kin. Paige wrote her first song with Chuck Ragan at 15\, which kickstarted her love for songwriting. In the last few years\, Paige has spent her time creating new music\, played bass for Family of the Year (2018)\, wrote a plethora of new songs to share\, and has been discovering a new sound for herself and Two Runner. \nFiddler Emilie Rose was raised on Scottish Fiddle and fiddle camps starting at the age of 9. In her early years\, she led Celtic band The String Sisters who played together for 10 years in the Sierra Nevada Foothills. Emilie has a deep understanding and love for folk music traditions. \nEmilie took the fiddle out of NorCal to study at Berklee College of Music\, where she graduated in 2020. In her studies\, Emilie was mentored by the greats such as Bruce Molsky\, Natalie Haas\, and Darol Anger. \nTogether\, Two Runner brings a rich mix to the folk music world\, with their harmonies\, banjo pickin’\, dirt kickin’ duo. With thought-provoking lyrics and a diverse range of musical inspiration\, Mulwana’s music has been described as afro-soul rock that takes on a unique storytelling quality. The single features a full band composition\, bringing a dynamic and high energy quality that builds on the soulful presence of his solo performances. \nMulwana began as an acoustic\, singer-songwriter act\, but has since grown into a four piece band\, dialing up the flavor\, depth\, and infectious energy of his music. The full band set has been described as energetic and dynamic while bringing a groovy\, magnetic presence that immediately captures the attention of his audience. \nSam Ness \nAt 24 years old\, many people have a quick double-take when meeting Sam Ness. “His hair and beard conjure images of Jim Morrison circa 1969\, and\, like Morrison\, Ness writes poetry that he sets to music and prefers the character of old European cities. But Ness isn’t as lost as Morrison was” (Wisconsin State Journal). But it’s not just his looks that often surprise. After leaving his small hometown of Sauk City\, WI\, Sam has already seen and lived more than most could in several lifetimes. \nSam made a big entrance to the stage when he started performing in his high school Show Choir and Musicals\, earning him awards such as Colby Show Choir Invitational Outstanding Male Soloist Award\, Lacrosse Logan Show Choir Invitational Showstopper Award\, Onalaska Show Choir Invitational Outstanding Male Soloist Award\, Milton Show Choir Invitational Outstanding Male Soloist Award\, and Monona Grove Show Choir Invitational Outstanding Male Soloist Award. To pair with the show choir season\, Sam performed in several musicals landing him The Wisconsin Tommy Award – Outstanding Lead Performer (Role of Beast in Beauty and the Beast)\, as well as a Wisconsin Tommy Award Nomination for Outstanding Lead Performer (Role of Marius in Les Miserables). \nOutside of theater productions\, Sam made time for competing at a varsity level on the Football team as well as Track and Field teams\, while competing nationally on the Trap and Skeet team. The athletics and theater productions came naturally to Sam after practicing Karate (Taekwondo) for a decade. \nSam started seriously writing his own songs at age 15\, and started religiously playing 8 open mic nights a week in Madison\, WI as soon as he got his drivers license. This landed him his first residency gig performing weekly at Madison’s Tip Top Tavern. While his family and friends urged him to pursue theater\, Sam felt connected to his songwriting and needed to see it through first. \nWith several scholarships to study theater in New York\, California\, Tennessee\, Massachusetts\, and Wyoming\, Sam rejected them all when he felt called to take some time to travel. With a his guitar\, a rucksack\, and a few hundred dollars\, Sam was given a one-way ticket to Edinburgh\, Scotland by a fan he had briefly met. After he landed\, he quickly ran out of money. He befriended the staff at a hostel while he learned the craft of busking (street performing). After he spent months honing his skill\, he hitch-hiked and hopped busses for almost a year across Scotland\, England\, France\, Spain\, Portugal\, and Switzerland\, sleeping in hostels\, people’s couches\, and occasionally in the street. \nSam returned home to Wisconsin shortly before he turned 19. He started building a following in his home\, as well as recording his first full album\, “Whispered on the Wind” which landed him the Madison Area Music Awards 2018 Alternative Album of the Year shortly after receiving the Madison Area Music Association Breakthrough Artist Third Place Winner 2017. He made a promise to perform for his livelihood\, or starve to death\, and so far he’s still playing music\, and loving every moment of it. \nA few of the friends Sam made hitch-hiking through Scotland came to visit him the following year on their way home to New Zealand. Shortly after\, they invited him to perform at their wedding just outside Christchurch\, NZ. Off like the wind\, Sam spent a few months hitch-hiking and busking across both the North and South Islands\, mixed with a 23 show tour across Thailand and Cambodia arranged by an agent out of Bangkok. \nSam returned home to keep touring the following summer. Come Autumn\, Sam got itchy feet again and decided to revisit his friends in the UK. He recorded a few ideas shortly before he left\, then finished writing and mixing his sophomore album\, “Lullabies & FaerieTales” from his laptop during his journey. The album was nominated for several Madison Area Music Awards\, and he was award the Male Vocalist of the Year 2019. \nRoaring into 2020\, Sam released four new Live in Studio videos\, which led into the release of his “Sam Ness – Live in Studio” (Later rebranded as Sam Ness – Down the Road) album on March 8th\, 2020. Shortly after\, he landed a track on Sofar Session’s Spotify playlist\, “Now Playing”\, played 105.5FM’s Studio M Session\, as well as opened for the band America on their 50th Anniversary Tour at the Crystal Grand Music Theater in Wisconsin Dells. \nSam could only roar so far into 2020 though. Along with other musicians\, he locked himself at home daydreaming about being back in the world. His song\, “Six Feet Away feat. Grace Gladem” debuted mid-summer\, alongside a music video featuring Kallie Tierney. \nKnowing he couldn’t be on the road a while\, Sam took the opportunity to slow down and reflect on the last 1000 shows in the middle of Wisconsin’s Northwoods. He spent the winter isolated in a Cabin recording an album that was released in May 2021 called\, The Cabin. Hitting the ground running\, Sam left the cabin and played over 150 shows through the Summer of 2021. \nStay tuned for what’s next!
