Come explore the rhythms and textures of the night within our totally transformed space while immersing yourself in a world class VOID sound system. For this edition we welcome three of our favorite underground artists from across the US… Akua (Brooklyn) has been making major waves across the globe with celebrated sets at Dekmantel\, Draaimolen\, and a legendary closing set at Berghain this past year. Juana (DC) plays music that makes you lose your mind on the dance floor\, this Unter resident and Discwoman stalwart is the real deal. Sassmouth (Chicago) is the founder of the God Particle label\, a former Smartbar resident\, and has played many outstanding DJ sets over the last decade plus at our festival\, Musique Électronique. \nSign up for our new mailing list @ remaininnight.com Follow us on Instagram @remaininnight \nBrought to you by the same crew behind the dance tent at La Fête de Marquette. \nVOID sound system courtesy of Submersive \nAkua \nAkua is a Ghanian-American artist based in Brooklyn. Her practice as a DJ and producer has developed throughout the years to uniquely encompass her passion for music – not only as an apparatus for dance\, but one of self discovery\, community building\, & unrestricted knowledge. Drawing influence from the kinetic freedom of 90s midwest techno\, the unifying velocity of dancing\, & the frenetic pace of life\, Akua has signature style of supersonic rhythm shifters\, every mix of hers courses with timelessness & the most empowering qualities of rave\n– time dilation\, expanded perspective within the mantra-like repetition of electronic rhythms\, & the continuum of black futurity at dance music’s core. \nAll this plays out in Akua’s blazing sets heard around the world\, from a residency on London’s beloved Rinse FM station\, playing forward thinking European festivals including Dekmantel\, Draaimolen\, and Horst along with a bombastic closing slot at Berghain for Berlin’s CTM Festival\, to all across North America at hot spots like NYC’s BASEMENT and Nowadays\, Pittsburgh’s Hot Mass\, & the annual Sustain-Release festival. Further praise for her work has come from publications Crack Magazine\, Pitchfork\, & Resident Advisor. Original productions of hers have appeared on compilations via platforms including Electronic Beats & HAUS OF ALTR\, further giving form to the inner velocity & metaphysical momentum Akua seeks to cultivate. \nThrough her journey in life & music\, Akua aims to help others find understanding within themselves by harnessing their personal power & channeling it into the power of dance. Her message through techno represents a deep dedication to research and bringing forth narratives about the genre’s history. Her work honors the original\, authentic\, and rebellious old school values of techno – the sort that luminaries like Underground Resistance defined so early on – while also breaking modern expectations with a fresh sense of attitude. Her recontextualization of techno centers it’s long lineage for contemporary audience\, transmuting the boundless genesis of rave onwards towards buoyant possibilities for the future. since helped redefine the techno sounds emerging from NYC through the multitude of her evocative\, mind bending sets & exuberant mixing techniques. Akua’s tireless dedication to more freakish strains of techno & finesse encapsulates the sublime\, chaotic potential of the present\, while harkening back to the innovative methods & experimentation of DJs throughout history. \nJuana \nJuana is a DJ and producer hailing originally from the city of Chicago. She started out like most\, as a random kid on the dance floor every week at places like The Generator and Boom Boom Room\, and has been DJing house\, techno\, and disco parties since roughly 2001. Juana moved to DC in 2003 and began hosting weekly live internet radio shows on HandzOnRadio (Baltimore) and Cyberjamz (Tampa) and playing parties in the DC deep house scene\, upping her skills alongside legendary DJs like Sam “the Man” Burns\,” and at clubs including Red and the DC Sanctuary. Juana started obsessively collecting disco and early house records in the late 90s and eventually developed an undying penchant for straight-ahead techno and darker shades of Chicago underground acid and deep house of the 80s and 90s. \nOver the past several years\, Juana has made her mark in DC as primarily a techno DJ\, becoming a weekend fixture at local venues like Flash and U Street Music Hall and as a member of the founding squad of the Sequence collective\, led by Ron Jackson. Sequence was the first underground party committed to consistently showcasing local and global techno DJs and crafting a dark\, dangerous\, sometimes hellishly uncomfortable party vibe hitherto unavailable in the DC area. \nJuana has enticed crowds all over the world at venues such as Berghain’s Saule\, Flash\, WAS\, De School\, and numerous underground warehouses. Over the past several years\, Juana has played alongside DJs such as\, DVS1\, Perc\, Headless Horseman\, I Hate Models\, and DJ Stingray. Juana joined the Discwoman roster in 2017 and is a founding member of the DC QT BIPOC collective NOXEEMA JACKSON. As a producer\, her first release “Discipline Issues” was released as part of a compilation on Katie Rex’s Bound label\, and her first independent EP “Floating” landed in 2020. Her most recent EP “Peaks” was released in July 2021\, and she also appeared on the TRAX ONLY Soft Touch compilation in spring of 2021 and the Neighborhoods Vol. 1 compilation on World Building in fall of 2021. \nSassmouth \nOne of the fascinating creatures that our Planet houses is the ever-elusive Sassmouth. Fortunately\, the Planet Chicago recording crew caught some sounds from her natural habitat\, and we just finished listening to the entire Sassmouth ‘Collected Mixes’ and ‘Selected Productions.’ The music explores all aspects of our Planet. Mind the abundant basslines\, dazzling melodies\, and unparalleled orchestral score. I was absolutely gobsmacked from start to finish indeed! \nAs of her ‘god particle’ label launch in early 2013\, and ‘Planet Chicago’ club night launch at the legendary ‘Smartbar’ in early 2014 where she continues her Chicago residency\, one can say that she is quite simply the inimitable nature/wildlife/DJ/producer. Following the similarly paramount achievement of being enlisted as a resident for the San Francisco based ‘As You Like It’ production group in early 2013\, this colossal cephalopod continued to so sensibly organize each and every impromptu mix whilst covering specific genre regions and/or habitats (deep oceans\, techno\, Great Lakes\, house\, shallow seas\, electro\, urban rivers\, experimental\, etc.) until the entire Planet was magnificently represented by the most astonishing sounds you’ve ever experienced from the comforts of home\, club\, or NBFC underground party. His blistering fast songs meet somewhere in the middle of hardcore\, garage and noise\, and are chock full of hooks and heavy riffs. \nBandcamp \nCaryatids \nThe roots of Caryatids date back to 2018\, when Coordinated Suicides singer/guitarist M. Martin wanted to start a vehicle for a different vein of his songwriting. Over time\, Caryatids has evolved into an intriguing\, compelling\, emotional band with bassist/producer Terran (Cult of Lip\, Carbon Bangle\, Antillia Raid) and drummer Mike Pellino (We Should Have Been DJ’s\, Tippy\, Miyha). They released their debut\, “The End of the Sun” on Kitschy Spirit Records in September 2022. Press describes “The End of the Sun” as “an incredible album… that eludes genre categorization (as pioneering albums should)… the mystique of this dark experimental rock group is nothing less than infatuating.” Caryatids will be returning from a 2023 tour with this show. \nBandcamp URL:https://www.high-noon.com/event/another-heaven-shoobie-baby-tyler-and-caryatids/ LOCATION:High Noon Saloon\, 701 East Washington Avenue\, Madison\, 53703 ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/png:https://www.high-noon.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Another-Heaven-Web-1.png END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART;TZID=America/Chicago:20230221T190000 DTEND;TZID=America/Chicago:20230221T210000 DTSTAMP:20240328T090206 CREATED:20230130T225321Z LAST-MODIFIED:20230202T170055Z UID:8219-1677006000-1677013200@www.high-noon.com SUMMARY:Smarty Pints Trivia DESCRIPTION:  \n\nCOVID-19 POLICY\nBased on the latest local guidelines\, attendees are no longer required to provide proof of negative COVID-19 test AND/OR vaccination for entry into this event. Growing up\, annotation was a way of understanding and processing the culture that surrounded her\, a means of collecting words and stories that would become foundational to the songs she would write. Conversely\, songwriting became a way of marking up the experiences in her own life\, a process she’d often document and share in real-time with an ever-expanding online community. \nHaving amassed a legion of fans and followers ahead of her freshman year at Tufts University\, Ella entered one of the most exciting periods of her life confined to her dorm room as a result of the ongoing COVID pandemic. With an excess of time at her disposal\, she spent much of the year fine-tuning a batch of songs that she had brought with her from high school\, which would eventually become her debut project\, THIS IS NOT WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE. \nThe EP arrived the following summer via FADER Label\, catching the ears of fans such as Elton John\, who praised follow-up single “Calling Card\,” saying “if there’s any justice in the world\, it will be a big hit for Ella Jane… I really love it.” Sold-out shows in New York and Los Angeles soon followed\, as did a cross-country tour with Peter McPoland and an appearance on Netflix’s Heartstopper soundtrack. \nSpurred by the momentum\, she dropped out of college and moved to Brooklyn to give the music all of her time. The songs she wrote during this period radiate with the coming-of-age urgency of that moment\, and all the identity-affirming head rushes that came with it. Teaming up with producer Mike Irish\, they aimed to keep the pop sensibilities of her earlier work as well as steer them toward a grittier place more akin to the sound of her alt-rock heroes. They landed at Marginalia; a concise offering of her most propulsive and assertive material to date that establishes Ella Jane as a formidable storyteller all while nodding to the process that got her there. Through their new EP What I Get For Loving You\, Seaforth’s Tom Jordan and Mitch Thompson – childhood friends who take their name from the Sydney suburb where they grew up – want to expand popular perception to include\narticulate\, authentic songwriting that does a deeper dive into the human experience. \n“It’s easy to just look at us like\, ‘Oh\, you guys are funny\,’” said Tom – who produced the project entirely from the pair’s home studio. “Yeah\, 100 percent. But at the end of the day\, we are musicians. We are producing the songs\, and we are writing the songs\, and we have real stories to tell.” \nThe growth was hard-won for the pair who thought they were on the fast track to their dreams at the end of 2019. Seaforth had just finished opening shows in Sydney for their musical hero Keith Urban\, was playing to full houses in Europe at Country 2 Country Festival\, booked their first sold-out headlining show in Australia and felt like the world was at their feet. Then\, the harsh reality of the pandemic isolated them from their careers\, their friends\, and held them captive a world away from their families in Australia. \n“It was insane\,” Tom said. “We were like\, ‘What do we do?’ And we just sat around and tried new things because we couldn’t do what we were used to doing.” \nThey learned to cook. Mitch became an avid gardener\, putting down his guitar for six months. Tom rededicated himself to growing his musical production skills\, creating beats and melodies for no one in particular. Lacking inspiration\, they didn’t write a song until the end of 2020. \nThey say fans on Instagram were a catalyst for snapping them out of their creative funk. A challenge circulating on the platform prompted artists to play an unreleased song. The duo’s\nfriends in Avenue Beat tagged them. Tom and Mitch posted a snip of the heart-wrenching “Breakups\,” a song they’d been toying with\, and watched thousands of people respond immediately. \n“We’re like\, ‘Let’s just tease\,'” Tom said\, explaining the feedback reinvigorated their confidence. “Let’s try and make music because that’s all we have.” \n“It was the only thing we could control\,” Mitch adds. \n“Breakups\,” a wounded\, vulnerable\, and utterly relatable relationship ballad\, made Seaforth reexamine their songwriting craft and question the direction they wanted to take their new music. “Breakups\,” included on What I Get For Loving You\, is Tom’s personal story and the most profound song the duo has released. With 40 million on-demand streams to date\, the track is also their most successful. \n“What we realized is we’re always like\, ‘Oh\, this is a quote-unquote banger\,'” Tom says. “Then you put out a song with such depth that came from literally the hardest emotional thing I’ve ever had to go through\, and it’s done the best out of any song we’ve put out. We’ve spoken a lot about this recently that we have to show that side of us\, too.” \nMost of the songs on the EP were crafted in their Nashville home during lockdown. Tom harnessed his newly refined production skills\, and the duo recorded the collection in a small room at home. They outsourced the players\, trusted each other’s opinions and couldn’t be happier with the outcome. \nThey see the EP’s title track as the next chapter of “Breakups.” The title tells a tale\, and they describe the collection as a love story of different emotions. They co-wrote “What I Get For Loving You” with Rocky Block\, and the friends say the song’s lyrics are their best songwriting to date. The ballad also represents their music careers. \n“‘What I Get For Loving You’ in general and writing\, it’s like\, ‘This is what we’re doing. We chose this path\,’” Mitch says. “Everything that comes along with it\, the ups and downs\, that’s what we get for loving what we do. If you take a step back\, it captures everything and just our journey in general.” \nOther standout tracks on the EP include ” Queen of Daytona Beach (with Sean Kingston)\,” a breezy banger they also co-wrote with Block\, featuring a sample from Kingston’s multi-Platinum smash. At the time\, they penned the song at home during lockdown as a wish for where they would like to be. \n“We ended up starting this relationship with Rocky then ended up becoming best mates with this dude because I think we needed each other\,” Tom says. “He was going through his own situation professionally and personally as well.” \nThe production varies from down-home contemporary country on “Good Beer\,” their duet with Jordan Davis\, to wildly progressive in “Dr. Phil.” They attribute the swing to their Australian upbringing. \n“Being an international person in Nashville\, you obviously have international influences\,” Tom says. “We were raised on very different music than someone from the middle of Georgia\, but it all ties into country music for us\, and that’s why we’re here. Our goal was always to be an authentic version of ourselves because that’s what country music is about. It’s about authentic stories and about relating to people. I feel like producing and writing everything is as authentic as it can possibly get.” \nWhile 2020 didn’t work out as planned for them\, they emerged with a group of songs sure to turn heads – and volume knobs. Seaforth is plunging into this EP release with an impressive 340 million global on-+demand streams and a Gold-certified single for their Mitchell Tenpenny duet “Anything She Says.” \nTom Jordan and Mitch Thompson left Australia to come to Nashville and play their brand of country music. In that way\, the fast track led to their dreams with a few unexpected bumps along the way. “We do have real stories to tell\,” Tom says. “We want to make sure people know that.” URL:https://www.high-noon.com/event/seaforth/ LOCATION:High Noon Saloon\, 701 East Washington Avenue\, Madison\, 53703 ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/jpeg:https://www.high-noon.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/Seaforth-HNS-Web.jpg END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART;TZID=America/Chicago:20230225T210000 DTEND;TZID=America/Chicago:20230225T233000 DTSTAMP:20240328T090206 CREATED:20230124T230006Z LAST-MODIFIED:20230125T162204Z UID:8189-1677358800-1677367800@www.high-noon.com SUMMARY:LYNY DESCRIPTION:  \n\nCOVID-19 POLICY\nBased on the latest local guidelines\, attendees are no longer required to provide proof of negative COVID-19 test AND/OR vaccination for entry into this event. He is pushing the boundaries of electronic music by discovering and combining new cutting-edge sounds with melodic compositions. His approach to bass music is heavily influenced by Hip-Hop and trap beats with a splash of R&B. He strives to balance his songs with heart wrenching basslines\, arpeggiated melodies\, hard hitting drums\, and often throws in recognizable vocal chops. LYNY’s skills as a producer and engineer have landed him placements with Tobi Lou\, Lox Chatterbox\, and SVRITE. \nSome of LYNY’s stand out tunes include Jump Bros! which is a flip of Destiny Child’s ‘Jumpin’ mixed with the ‘Super Smash Bros. Brawl’ theme melody\, And Freak! which uses Missy Elliots vocals from ‘Get Ur Freak On’. His versatility has allowed him to touch many genres progressing his sound to a very unique place. This year\, LYNY released his heavy hitting EP ‘Dash’ as well as collaborations with Bailo\, L*o*J\, and Dabow. The success of these releases has earned him major support from industry heavyweights\, Marshmello\, Louis The Child\, and PEEKABOO as well as labels such as Majestic Casual and Lucid Monday. \nLYNY is set to play shows all over the states with Boombox Cartel. \n“Music has always been a big part of my life. I’ve been producing and writing music for as long as I can remember and it has become an essential form of self expression. I started the LYNY project in 2016 with a vision and goals in mind as I wanted to start fresh on a project with direction. It’s been a non-stop grind of learning the art of production\, focusing on creating my own sound\, and making tracks that are unusually unique while stressing on keeping them high-quality and clean. From the age of 15\, this gifted musician seemed destined for a musical career his parents could be proud of: playing bass in promising ensembles\, winning a Dave Brubeck Jazz Scholarship competition\, studying classical upright at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and jazz bass at Los Medanos College. But at some point on the path to respectable mainstream success\, something went fantastically wrong. \nIn 2003\, Silverman wrote\, recorded\, produced and mastered the debut album from his demented alter ego That 1 Guy — a magnificently insane one-man show that has been making waves across America since the late ’90s. He made the record with an unwieldy homemade instrument called The Magic Pipe\, wrote songs called “It’s Raining Meat” and “Weasel Potpie\,” and titled the disc Songs In The Key Of Beotch. Whatever drove the mild-mannered Silverman to do this is debatable\, but one thing is for sure: fans of the musically bizarre will be forever grateful. \nThat 1 Guy began quickly and unexpectedly\, after Silverman finished a gig with his beloved Bay Area group The Fabulous Hedgehogs. After the club owner paid the 5-piece band a meager $50\, Silverman joked that the next time around he’d play the show alone. The owner took him up on the offer\, and right then and there\, That 1 Guy was born. In a fit of experimentation\, Silverman removed all his bass strings except for one and picked up a drum machine as accompaniment. That 1 Guy’s first show\, at Dr. Bombay’s in San Francisco’s Mission District\, was a learning experience. The club had no stage\, so Silverman performed standing on the bar\, his head touching the ceiling\, his microphone plugged into the jukebox. “It was the worst gig ever\, yet somehow my greatest musical accomplishment up to that point\,” Silverman reminisces. \nSince that fateful night\, Silverman has worked hard on perfecting his one-man show and building the beautiful monstrosity that is The Magic Pipe. Seven feet of galvanized steel and hardware store trinkets\, the metallic\, one-stringed instrument is brought to life by an array of electronic gadgets. Silverman claims the pipe\, “not only has a limitless harmonic and sonic range\, but limitless rhythmic possibilities as well.” \nWhen That 1 Guy performs live\, his imagination is what truly seems limitless. On top of his infectious\, innovative style\, the artist throws more avant-garde treats into the mix\, like impassioned Whodini covers and electrified cowboy boots. His indisputably original show has attracted the attention of a wide range of artists\, and as a result\, Silverman has shared the stage with the likes of Ani DiFranco\, Soul Coughing\, Saul Williams\, Bob Weir and Ratdog\, Yo La Tengo\, Fabolous\, Drums & Tuba\, Naughty By Nature and countless others. Drawing on maximalist rock epics from Who’s Next to Hysteria\, Bilerman and Stickles have crafted the richest\, densest\, and hardest-hitting sound for Titus Andronicus yet. All at once\, the record matches the sprawl and scope of the band’s most celebrated work\, while also honing their ambitious attack to greater effect than ever before. “It may strike some as ironic we had to go to Canada to record our equivalent to Born in the USA\,” quips Stickles\, “but the pursuit of Ultimate Rock knows no borders.” \nTo reach this level of focus and clarity\, Stickles had to stand on the nexus of triumph and tragedy.\nFor his recent stretch of personal stability\, he credits a newfound domestic bliss and steadfast mental health regimen (“Lamictal is a hell of a drug”) as well as the endurance of what has become the longest-running consistent lineup of Titus Andronicus—as with 2018’s A Productive Cough and 2019’s An Obelisk\, The Will to Live proudly features Liam Betson on guitar\, R.J. Gordon on bass\, and Chris Wilson on drums. \nOn the crueler side of the coin\, however\, The Will to Live was created in large part as an attempt to process the untimely 2021 death of Matt “Money” Miller\, the founding keyboardist of the band and Stickles’ closest cousin. Stickles explains: “Certain recent challenges\, some unique to myself and some we have all shared\, but particularly the passing of my dearest friend\, have forced me to recognize not only the precious and fragile nature of life\, but also the interconnectivity of all life. Loved ones we have lost are really not lost at all\, as they\, and we still living\, are all component pieces of a far larger continuous organism\, which both precedes and succeeds our illusory individual selves\, united through time by (you guessed it) the will to live. Recognition of this self-evident truth demands that we extend the same empathy and compassion we would wish for ourselves outward to every living creature\, even to those we would label our enemies\, for we are all cells in the same body\, sprung from a common womb\, devoted to the common cause of survival.” \n“Naturally\, though\, our long-suffering narrator can only arrive at this conclusion through a painful and arduous odyssey through Hell itself\,” he qualifies. “This is a Titus Andronicus record\, after all.” \nSome of the proverbial fires lit under Stickles’ ass\, however\, burned more pleasurably than others. When Titus Andronicus made their long-awaited return to the stage in November of 2021\, it was to celebrate the 10th 11th anniversary of their landmark breakthrough album The Monitor\, and the act of playing that material before an ecstatic audience left the band determined to deliver an album that would reach for those same lofty heights\, relying this time less on the reckless fire of youth and more on the experience and perspective at which a band only arrives with a thousand shows under their belt. Through this golden ratio\, Titus Andronicus have arrived at the peak of their creative powers. \nFrom its adrenalizing opening instrumental “My Mother Is Going to Kill Me” to its wistful closing benediction “69 Stones\,” The Will to Live conjures a vast landscape and sends the listener on a rocket ride from peak to vertiginous peak. Rock fans will find themselves a feast\, whether they crave barn-burning rock anthems such as “(I’m) Screwed” and “All Through the Night\,” rapid-fire lyrical gymnastics (“Baby Crazy”)\, symphonic punk throwdowns (“Dead Meat”)\, or an adventurous excursion into the darkness that delivers thrills as it breezes boldly past the seven-minute mark\, “An Anomaly.” \nAs if that wasn’t enough gas for the tank\, The Will to Live features sterling contributions from members of the Hold Steady\, Arcade Fire\, and the E Street Band\, as well as duets with the aforementioned Betson\, former Titus Andronicus drummer Eric Harm\, and Josée Caron of the Canadian rock band Partner. The album comes packaged with gorgeous triple-gatefold artwork by illustrious illustrator Nicole Rifkin\, a Hieronymus Bosch–inspired triptych which mirrors the three-part structure of the narrator’s perilous voyage across the corresponding three sides of vinyl. All together\, this esteemed ensemble\, with Stickles and Bilerman determined and defiant at the helm\, have found The Will to Live—now\, the question is… will you? \nCountry Westerns \nNashville rockers Country Westerns are excited to announce their self-titled debut album\, to be released on May 1\, 2020 via Fat Possum Records. The band has also announced a slate of performances spanning from February to May of this year\, which includes stops in Nashville\, Atlanta\, Philadelphia\, Brooklyn and more. \nEven if you don’t know their names\, you likely know their work. Drummer Brian Kotzur starred in Harmony Korine’s film Trash Humpers and was a member of Silver Jews. Singer\, guitarist\, and songwriter Joseph Plunket led Brooklyn legends The Weight\, with a bass-playing side-hustle for Atlanta’s Gentleman Jesse. Plunket relocated to Nashville ten years ago and opened a bar. It was there\, in a town teeming with solo artists and hired guns\, that the two bonded over their shared desire to be in an actual band. \nIn 2016\, Plunket and Kotzur spent a year in Kotzur’s garage writing riffs and tracking demos. During those hazy\, late nights they began to hone their sound. Eventually\, with a handful of songs and the encouragement of their friends\, they began their quest for the third ‘Country Western’. After some time playing with different lineups—early recordings feature Reece Lazarus from Bully—their friend Sabrina Rush\, another rock-n-roller for life\, joined them on bass. Rush plays violin and is a member of the Louisville band State Champion\, but had never played bass. The instrument came naturally to her and her harmonic bass lines were a perfect fit. \nThe first recordings with the complete lineup were made in Nashville with engineer Andrija Tokic\, but the band was soon convinced to leave Nashville to record a couple of songs with Country Westerns enthusiast Matt Sweeney. With Sweeney as the band’s producer they set out for New York and did their first session at Brooklyn’s Strange Weather Studios\, with Daniel Schlett. The Strange Weather recordings piqued the interest of indie record label Fat Possum. The band returned to Strange Weather to finish the record and\, shortly afterward\, signed a deal with Fat Possum Records. \nOn their debut album\, Plunket delivers his words with a cool\, raspy bravado and a hint of twang\, summoning the spirits of the cities in which the tracks were made. The lyrics bend towards poetry and punk rock sneer in equal measure and lines such as “Maybe I ain’t smart\, but I ain’t lying” set the tone for the entire album. The songs are full of insistent guitar riffs played on an electric twelve-string\, the jangle either mitigating the edge or pushing it further. \nKotzur and Rush form a tight-knit rhythm section\, alternately weaving around and syncing up with one another. They build the foundations of the songs with dynamic tempo\, creating a full sound with Plunket—one that is bigger than you might expect for a three-piece. Cameron Kinghorn and DJ Stepmom (Joe Christensen) didn’t even set out to start a band. When Joe texted Cameron some jams whipped up on his tape machine\, Cameron hit him back with\, “What is this? I want in.” Ten minutes before they first met up\, Joe built the loop for their first single\, ‘Sunshine\,’ which they then wrote on the spot in a flurry of collective inspiration. Now the duo’s collection of work has grown\, amassing millions of streams\, radio play\, shows across the US\, and a fan base growing rapidly. \nKing Pari is much more than this serendipitous start though. The project is the culmination of Joe and Cameron’s years of hard work in the Minneapolis scene. Their musical talents afforded them opportunities few have experienced\, from being invited to play shows at Prince’s Paisley Park by Prince himself to performing with Prince’s band New Power Generation. The two draw inspiration from the “no limits” nature of the Minneapolis sound\, pushing it forward as they see it today. \nAll of these moments culminate in King Pari and lay the groundwork for one of the most exciting new projects in music right now. With their debut project\, “Mary”\, out everywhere and official remixes on the way from the likes of Peanut Butter Wolf\, Moonchild\, and Ginger Root it is clear that the future for King Pari is extremely bright and only getting brighter. \nHorace Greene \nWisconsin band Horace Greene crafts danceable indie rock\, teasing elements of synth-pop and psychedelia. With a loyal following growing every day in the Natural State and along their tour routes\, the band is proud to be stepping into a hard-driving sound unique to the Arkansas quartet. \nThe third album (If I Were You\, released April 2017) of all original material finds the palate expanded with more complex melodies\, intriguing rhythms\, and hard-hitting hooks that leave the songs whirling around your head long after the listening experience. \nThe hard-working musicians are filling the calendar with upcoming appearances at premiere music festivals and venues in and around Arkansas\, Oklahoma\, Texas\, Mississippi\, Colorado\, New Mexico\, and Missouri. \nThe band’s roots go back to 2011 when founding members Ethan Bush\, Zac Archuleta\, and Stephen Jolly began writing together after becoming acquainted through mutual connections in the close-knit Fayetteville music scene. After a couple of years building a repertoire of original music and releasing their first album (Hambone) as a trio\, they were joined by Tom Andersen on the upright bass and Adams Collins on the five-string banjo. The road-tested chops Andersen and Collins brought to the table helped to cultivate the mature\, well-rounded sound needed to accommodate their sophomore release “All Day Long.” \nAn Arkansauce show is riddled with improvisational guitar\, banjo\, and mandolin leads\, paired with powerful harmonies and heart-felt songwriting\, all held together by deep foot-stompin’ bass grooves. There’s an undeniably intimate connection between the band and their fans that’s contagious and leaves everyone in front of\, and on the stage wanting more. Arkansauce holds their head high\, as they look forward to enjoying everything life and music has in store for them and their fans. Tickets purchased for the original date are still valid for the new date.** \n  \nThere’s certainly some great joy in exploring the unknown\, right? Scary at times\, perhaps a bit messy momentarily\, but certainly exciting as all heck. In Adam Greuel & the Space Burritos Adam brings together a smorgasbord of friends for an often rather improvisational set of musical exploration. With Adam’s roots in bluegrass\, country\, rock n’ roll\, and blues\, the music tends to roll into a direction probably best described as “Americana”. In that same token\, Adam’s general music curiosity lends itself to a more “open” approach where various band member’s and their musical curiosities contribute to the ensemble’s sound. To Adam\, finding joy in music and sharing that with the crowd is one of the most fulfilling components of being a performing artist. With his “freewheelin’ country rock n’ roll”\, you’re frankly just going to have to come\, see what happens\, and take the ride. It’ll probably be a hoot. After three albums and a decade of hard work\, including countless performances worldwide\, the members — Cory Castro\, Lawrence Warner\, Justin Castro\, Jake Hughes\, and Kevin Garcia — have a fresh perspective on life. The band is through obsessing over what comes next and romanticizing the moments that have already passed. Instead\, Free Throw is making music about the present and how seeking balance in our lives is far more meaningful work than the endless pursuit of whatever you deem to be ‘enough.’ \n“It’s very hard when for a band like us to take time off\,” drummer Kevin Garcia explains. “We go home to write and record\, then we go on tour. Rinse and repeat\, you know? When we got into this writing process\, we stopped feeling like we existed in a mold or on a path that Free Throw is supposed to keep going on with our contemporaries. We stopped worrying about what tour we may be fighting for next or what someone else does. We were just writing songs that we really like writing. ” \nThroughout the album’s twelve tracks\, Piecing It Together finds the men of Free Throw abandoning childhood notions of success and happiness through a thorough exploration of personal fulfillment. It’s about reaching the heights that once felt impossible and everything that comes after. How no matter what we do or where we go\, we must continue to wake up and find the strength to keep on keeping on despite everything we tell ourselves about ourselves. \nPiecing It Together is an exploration of self-acceptance\, and Free Throw invites everyone to join. With personal roots that go deep — frontman Carson Macc and guitarist Nick Barone have been playing together since they were teenagers — Mac Saturn has grooves at its heart\, playing with a buoyant energy that makes dancing a command rather than an option\, and with a dynamic scope that speaks to the group’s musical ambition\, and precision. As drummer-turned-singer Macc puts it\, “The songs are rock\, but they’ve got that other thing going on — that funky\, dancey\, Motown\, whatever you want to call it — that makes them our own thing.” Mac Saturn covers a lot of ground on its debut five-song EP Until the Money Runs Out\, from the hip-swiveling “Diamonds” and “Mr. Cadillac” to the urgent punch of “Persian\,” the treacly touch of “Ain’t Like You” and the rootsy restraint of “Plain Clothes Gentleman.” And Macc sings everything with the assurance and swagger that’s as much Harry Styles as MIck Jagger. As Detroit music journalist Gary Graff praised\, “Mac Saturn’s muscle puts the band on a different plane than of what can be considered contemporary pop-rock.” Catch ’em on tour around North America this winter and get in on the ground floor of what will surely be the next significant band to hail from the historic heritage of the Motor City. \nBilly Tibbals \nMoving from London to Hollywood back in 2014\, Billy Tibbals quickly found a love for the city and its esoteric\, debauched history. Combining this with his childhood obsession with British rock and roll\, surrealist literature\, and musicals from the 1940’s\, Billy’s music presents a unique and fantastical view of the world around us. As a part of the exciting new wave of rock and roll music emerging from Los Angeles\, Billy hopes to inspire the youth to get off their phones and come join in with the fun. It’s only just begun! \nRocker Billy Tibbals draws on his influences and introduces a bombastic and riveting British-inspired attitude with his debut effort Stay Teenage. Billy and his band will debut these songs on his tour with Mac Saturn in Winter 2023. Discovered by Kiss bass player Gene Simmons\, the group issued their eponymous debut album in 1975\, which hewed closer to prog rock than the glam pop that would inform future endeavors like On Earth as It Is in Heaven (1977) and Sinful (1979). The group went their separate ways in 1981\, but re-formed in the late ’90s with a new lineup\, and released two studio albums (1999’s In the Beginning and 2019’s Risen) and numerous compilations. \nFormed in Washington\, D.C.\, the group’s self-titled 1975 debut was recorded for the flamboyant Casablanca Records label — home to Kiss — with a line-up comprising Frank DiMino (vocals)\, Punky Meadows (guitar\, ex-BUX)\, Gregg Giuffria (keyboards)\, Mickie Jones (bass\, ex-BUX)\, and Barry Brandt (drums). A heady slab of heavy pomp rock with lengthy songs swathed in Giuffria’s atmospheric keyboards and featuring the longtime stage favorite “Tower\,” it was followed in 1976 by Helluva Band\, which continued in a similar vein\, with the group’s famous white satin stage clothing making its debut on the album sleeve. On Earth as It Is in Heaven saw a distinct change in musical direction\, as the band adopted a a more pop/rock-oriented sound\, and introduced a clever logo that read identically when upside down. \n1978’s White Hot\, with Felix Robinson replacing Jones\, was helped by Eddie Leonetti’s sympathetic production\, and produced minor U.S. hits in “I Ain’t Gonna Eat Out My Heart Anymore” and “The Winter Song.” Leonetti subsequently produced Sinful and the in-concert set Live Without a Net. Angel’s record sales never quite reflected their popularity as a live act\, and a legal dispute with PolyGram prompted the band’s breakup in 1981. Giuffria attempted to revive the band in 1984\, but the abortive reunion led to the formation of the more successful House of Lords. Robinson\, meanwhile\, appeared in an early White Lion line-up and played with 707. Brandt and DiMino re-formed Angel in the late ’90s to record In the Beginning\, with the help of guitarist and songwriter Richard Marcello. They staged an Angel reunion of sorts by persuading former colleagues Robinson and Meadows to play on the track “Set Me Free.” \nThe group performed off and on during the early 2000s and issued a handful of compilation albums. Bassist and founding member Mickie Jones passed away in 2009 after battling liver cancer. Punky Meadows released a solo LP\, Fallen Angel\, in 2016\, and in 2018\, Meadows and DiMino toured under the name Frank DiMino & Punky Meadows of Angel. The band officially re-formed the following year with Meadows and DiMino joined by Danny Farrow\, Steve E. Ojane\, Billy Orrico\, and Charlie Calv. The newly reactivated Angel released their seventh studio effort\, Risen\, later that October. Those shows celebrated the band’s 50th anniversary and served as their official send-off\, while Circles Around the Sun was designed to reflect the Dead’s overall spacy and groove-laden feel. After the tour\, the group released a self-titled album from the Fare Thee Well gigs\, supporting the record with their own road trip. The response was so positive that they continued on with a follow-up project\, Let It Wander\, in 2018. This record was less influenced by the Dead and more free-form\, delivering on the roots influence of jazz-funk\, soul\, and fusion. The band underwent a fundamental transition in 2019. After completing the Meets Joe Russo EP and a third album\, their guitarist Neal Casal committed suicide on August 26\, 2019. He left his bandmates a note asking for them to continue in his absence– to continue recording\, touring\, and playing together. The band decided to carry on with a rotating cast of guitarists\, landing on John Lee Shannon as the permanent replacement. \nIn this metamorphosis\, Circles Around the Sun spans both heartbreak and hope. Doors close; windows open; new directions extend themselves in mysterious ways. But sometimes you know it’s real from the first beat. It just clicks. It’s just how Neal would want it. It’s Circles Around The Sun. \nJenny O. \nSpectra is the fourth full-length album by Jenny O. It is a celebration of the universal\, the organic\, a manual straight from the soul on how to love practically and unconditionally\, in all directions. These are hymns straight from the Church of Rock n’ Roll. \n“Spectra refers to our multitudes\, the ways we identify and experience life\, as a nebula… nuance\, variation\, not one thing or another\, but somewhere between\, unfixed. Spectra explores connectivity and contains overt expressions of love for others\, oneself\, and nature. It is my favorite record I have made and my most joyful.” \nJenny O. played the guitar\, bass\, synthesizers and more on Spectra. She grew up on Long Island\, New York\, in a household that worshiped early rock n’ roll. She is a classically trained composer\, singer\, and multi-instrumentalist who studied jazz and experimented with trip hop in the early 2000’s before making her way to California and back to rock n’ roll. Jenny O. made two albums with Jonathan Wilson— Automechanic and Peace & Information\, followed by New Truth and now Spectra— both with Kevin Ratterman. She has toured with legends like Sixto Rodriguez\, Violent Femmes\, Father John Misty\, and Leon Russell\, and performed vocals on recordings by Bonnie “Prince” Billy\, Conor Oberst\, and Jim James. Los Angeles Times has written\, “it’s safe to say that no one sees the keyboard quite like Marco Benevento’s genre-blind mashup of indie rock\, jazz and skewed improvisation\,” while NPR Music raves that Benevento combines “the thrust of rock\, the questing of jazz and the experimental ecstasy of jam\,” and Rolling Stone praises “the textures and colors available in his keyboards and arsenal of manipulated pedals and effects along with his deceptively rich\, catchy melodies and straight-ahead grooves.” \nIndeed\, Marco Benevento’s music covers a wide swath of ground\, seemingly connecting the dots in the vast space between LCD Soundsystem and Leon Russell\, His songwriting is smart and earthy\, yet simultaneously pulsating with dance rock energy. Benevento’s high energy live shows—fronting a three-piece band currently comprised by bassist Karina Rykman and drummer Chris Corsico—have led to numerous high profile appearances\, ranging from Carnegie Hall to Pickathon. In the studio\, he’s collaborated with the likes of Richard Swift (The Shins\, Nathaniel Rateliff)\, Leon Michels (Lee Fields\, Freddie Gibbs) and Simone Felice (The Felice Brothers\, The Lumineers) among others. \nOn his latest album\, simply titled\, ‘Benevento\,’ the Woodstock\, NY-based artist dives deep down a psych funk rabbit hole\, reimagining the current Zeitgeist of these troubled times through surrealistic optimism and the pure joy of an irresistible groove on tracks like “At The End Or The Beginning\,” “Winter Rose” and “Do You Want Some Magic?” \nPress Quotes\n“Benevento jams with a concentration on the textures and colors available in his keyboards and arsenal of manipulated pedals and effects. His songs feature deceptively rich\, catchy melodies and straight-ahead grooves that expand with subtle mounting gestures.” – Rolling Stone \n“A musician so original that he can ultimately only be judged against his own standard.” -All Music \n“Reminiscent of Dr. John’s New Orleans psychedelia and piano chops with a hint of Father John Misty’s general coolness\, Marco Benevento brings something very unique to the modern pop world.” – The Wild Honey Pie \n“Benevento continues to straighten his twisted sound into the guise of an indie-rock singer-songwriter\, harnessing his inventive sonic palette into rewardingly bite-size pop songs that touch on disco and soul.” – LA Times \n“Marco Benevento is one of the most talented keys players of our time.” – CBS \n“Benevento’s colorful\, improvisational\, piano-based compositions stretch so wide and cover so much sonic ground that the idea of genre seems quaint. Very quietly\, he has been evolving into one of the most vital figures in jazz or rock or post-jazz or post-rock or—all of music.” –\nKansas City Pitch \n“Imaginative at heart\, Benevento demands you to be too when engaging with his work. Otherwise\, you probably are missing out on something special. Driven to experiment with chords and melodies with the intention of getting a little dirty along the way\, Benevento’s collisional approach is refreshing and absolutely delightful.” – Consequence of Sound \n“A vocalizing party-starter\, Benevento extrudes sinister balladry and hustling disco beats.” – Village Voice URL:https://www.high-noon.com/event/marco-benevento/ LOCATION:High Noon Saloon\, 701 East Washington Avenue\, Madison\, 53703 ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/jpeg:https://www.high-noon.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/MarcoBenevento-HNS-Web.jpg END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART;TZID=America/Chicago:20230319T120000 DTEND;TZID=America/Chicago:20230319T130000 DTSTAMP:20240328T090207 CREATED:20230109T160021Z LAST-MODIFIED:20230313T151345Z UID:8137-1679227200-1679230800@www.high-noon.com SUMMARY:The Rock and Roll Playhouse Plays Music of The Ramones for Kids & More DESCRIPTION:  \n\n\nBAG POLICY\nBags (max size 12″ x 6″ x 12″) are allowed and will be searched upon entry. Performing songs created by the most iconic musicians in rock history\, The Rock and Roll Playhouse band offers its core audience of families with children age ten and under games\, movement\, stories and an opportunity to rock out in an effort to educate children and explore their creativity. The Rock and Roll Playhouse is an early and often first introduction to a child’s lifelong journey with live music and rock and roll. See you at the show! \nThis concert for kids and families shares the music of the artist named above with a new generation of music lovers\, but is not associated with or endorsed by the artist. All children must be accompanied by a parent or adult caregiver. \nThe Rock and Roll Playhouse knows that little ears are sensitive\, so we turn down the volume at our shows.
