And they’re the band to see if you want to experience surf rock at its most offensive.” – Kelly Weidman\, The Informer \nDaikaiju is a mysterious chimera of sound and imagery that was first sighted in the winter of 1999. Entities of sonic mayhem\, Daikaiju takes the sound of waves crashing and shrieking atomic lizards and makes it rock in a way that instills shock and awe in all who experience their shows-a highly interactive and confrontational performance that literally draws the audience into the massive vortex of sound generated by the band. Concealed behind masks\, this troupe of mystery men create a mutant style of epic\, high energy instrumental rock that seamlessly incorporates a wide variety of musical styles including surf\, punk\, noise\, metal\, psychedelic and progressive rock. \nLike its namesake\, the music of Daikaiju is a great\, mysterious beast. Compelling melodies\, hard-hitting riffs and shifting dynamics fuse together to create songs that dare the listener to experience the secret history of the universe-a fantastic reality of giant monsters\, super humans\, and extraterrestrial invasions that unfolds like the soundtrack of the greatest monster movie never made. \nDuring the early years of the 21st century\, Daikaiju’s constant touring in support of their first EP\, Monster Surf\, built-up a substantial following throughout the southeastern U.S. They expanded their roadwork to the rest of the country as well as overseas with a tour of the Netherlands in November 2001\, followed by a lengthier European stay in 2002. In February 2002\, the band released their second EP\, The Phasing Spider Menace which won them many new fans via liberal airplay on college radio and on a number of podcasts including Escape Pod (www.escapepod.org)– a weekly podcast of science fiction and fantasy shorts. The band has also been featured on a number of U.S. and European compilations as well as on Kaiju Big Battel (www.kaiju.com) video productions. In 2005\, the band released its debut full-length album on Reptile Records. The self-titled record garnered rave reviews from a wide variety of music publications including music pundits Pitchfork Media (www.pitchforkmedia.com) who hailed Daikaiju as one of the greatest instrumental surf bands currently in existence. In September 2010\, the band released its second full-length album-Phase 2-on DingDong Records. The long-awaited album became a huge crossover critical success that got recognized in various annual Top 10 lists for surf\, heavy metal and progressive rock releases. The band embarked on a whirlwind tour of the continental U.S. in support of the album playing well over 200 shows in 2011. In 2012\, the band embarked on two European tours and continued their lengthy roadwork throughout the U.S. In 2013\, the band toured the Far East for its first shows in China\, South Korea\, and Japan. Daikaiju tied Public Image Ltd. as the ‘Best show by a foreign touring act’ in Time Out Beijing’s “Year’s end roundup: the best of Beijing music” for 2013. Since then\, the band has continued its sonic evolution\, and their live performances continue to be the stuff of legends. The coming months see Daikaiju poised to release new music as well as expand its roadwork to parts of the world the band has heretofore never been. Not so for Derek Plaslaiko\, whose 20-year career behind the decks has seen him gather a loyal fan base wherever and whenever he may be. Some will know Derek as a favorite of the mid-90s Detroit warehouse scene\, which lead to a personal invite from Carl Craig to appear at the inaugural Detroit Electronic Music Festival in 2000. Others recognize him from his near decade-long residency at The Bunker New York parties\, during which time he was named “Best Techno Party DJ” by the Village Voice in 2006. Then there was the summer of 2011 spent behind the decks at Berlin’s infamous Club der Visionaere\, as an honorary resident at the weekly Visionquest nights—a worthy introduction to the city he now calls home. \nOf late\, there is a new generation of party people who will know Plaslaiko from his extended sets (up to 12 hours) in New York\, Paris\, Seattle\, Los Angeles and Philadelphia\, or his regular appearances at clubs like Tresor\, Hot Mass\, Beta\, Output\, Smart Bar and Berghain\, and festivals like Decibel\, Communikey and Movement. Or some who caught his name on the flier for the No Way Back series of parties put on by Interdimensional Transmissions\, the Detroit imprint that has put out several of Plaslaiko’s rare original releases\, along with Perc Trax and Minus. There are tens of thousands of others who caught on to Plaslaiko following his record-breaking 12-hour Boiler Room set\, where he gave viewers a look into his living room\, while friends and friend’s toddlers enjoyed the day. This landmark session properly archived the full Plaslaiko musical experience\, from flawless house and techno\, to hip-hop\, classic rock\, and whatever other musical moment this life-long record obsessive chooses to share. And let’s not forget the thousands of folks who have befriended Plaslaiko while sharing the dance floor with this committed clubber who refuses to hang out in the booth and will always skip the DJ dinner in favor of catching one of his peers behind the decks. \nWherever one picks up Plaslaiko’s story\, maybe during his days dealing discs in Detroit’s famed Record Time dance room or possibly the years spent moving serious weight at Watts and Syntax Distribution\, the one constant is top-shelf musical taste\, as defined by Plaslaiko’s personal heroes—names like Laurent Garnier\, Daniel Bell and Zip\, and colleagues including Carlos Souffront\, Jason Kendig and Mike Servito—and a passion for music that over-rides the usual trappings of the modern DJ industry. This may mean to some that Plaslaiko is still unsung. But for those who know better (and there are many all over the world)\, praise for Derek has been sung for decades. \nMore info at remaininnight.com URL:https://www.high-noon.com/event/willy-street-beatsfeaturing-derek-plaslaiko/ LOCATION:High Noon Saloon\, 701 East Washington Avenue\, Madison\, 53703 ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/jpeg:https://www.high-noon.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/Willy-Street-Beats-2022-DEREK-WEB.jpg END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART;TZID=America/Chicago:20220918T200000 DTEND;TZID=America/Chicago:20220918T200000 DTSTAMP:20240329T000133 CREATED:20220627T164753Z LAST-MODIFIED:20220823T203138Z UID:7613-1663531200-1663531200@www.high-noon.com SUMMARY:GGOOLLDD DESCRIPTION:  \n\nCOVID-19 POLICY\nBased on the latest local guidelines\, attendees are no longer required to provide proof of negative COVID-19 test AND/OR vaccination for entry into this event. Though both just out of college\, the duo’s musical talents extend far beyond their years. Produced by GRAMMY-winning Cajun roots heavyweight Joel Savoy at his Louisiana studio\, Vivian Leva & Riley Calcagno (released March 12\, 2021 on Free Dirt Records) is not some soulless collection of songs imitating previous masters of American music. Rather\, the pair has responded to one of the darkest eras in American history with an album of stunning breadth and originality. With mass protests\, fires raging near their current home in the Pacific Northwest\, and no prospect of touring anytime soon\, it’s an aptly biting\, bittersweet group of songs for an uncertain time. Yet\, Leva and Calcagno balance this with a sense of optimism—a notion that at our most vulnerable we might emerge better humans because of it all\, perhaps beginning with our own intimate relationships. The eleven tracks elegantly reprise the deep threads of old-time and classic country present throughout Leva’s debut album—she did grow up in rural Appalachia outside Lexington\, Virginia\, the daughter of celebrated old-time musicians\, after all. However\, the pair fluidly meld this traditional backbone with fresh iconic melodies\, expanded production\, and the tightly wound vocal harmonies of indie folk. It’s an artistic statement made from this moment but built to last.\n\nVivian Leva & Riley Calcagno follows Leva’s critically acclaimed 2018 debut\, Time Is Everything\, which garnered rave reviews from publications like Rolling Stone who said the album shone “a light on the past without giving up its place in the present.” Leva was hailed for her mature\, deeply grounded songwriting\, surprising for a songwriter not quite 20 years old at the time. She wields the same golden pen on the new album\, though Calcagno lends a hand too with songwriting and arrangements\, pulling Leva’s songs in new directions and down unexpected pathways. While their previous album centered around the passage of time\, the couple’s new record explores themes of space and distance. Leva and Calcagno were working on these songs well before COVID\, but were separated by half the country while attending different universities. With Leva on the West Coast and Calcagno in Ohio\, the two sent each other songs as voice memos or worked on them during weekend visits.\n\nBoth Leva and Calcagno grew up in the Appalachian string band tradition\, have noted parents in the old-time scene\, and spent formative years running wild around festival campgrounds. They are steeped in an instrumental culture of hard-picking and virtuosic musicianship; indeed there are plenty of online videos of them tearing through all-night jam sessions. Leva recently joined Calcagno’s former teen stringband The Onlies\, releasing an album of fire-breathing fiddle tunes in late 2020. However\, what sets Leva and Calcagno apart—in addition to their work as instrumentalists—is their almost preternatural talent as songwriters. Great pickers don’t necessarily make great songwriters; it’s an entirely different art to be able to translate the world of rural Appalachia into a country song that can still make a personal point. As young artists stepping into the spotlight during one of the most brutal periods in our history it’s clear they’ve built something that can last\, something that speaks to our present time while reminding us of the best parts of where we came from. After Keegan enlisted friends Danny Bengston (bass) and Erik Jimenez (drums) to flesh out his material\, the trio soon began gigging around the CalArts campus area and involving themselves with the Southern California D.I.Y. scene. Their noisy\, boozy shows earned them a loyal following and they began releasing a variety of indie cassettes\, singles\, and EPs\, eventually issuing their full-length debut\, Jelly Jam\, in 2010. \nThe group worked with a variety of small labels and in 2012 released its second LP\, Living Dummy\, on esteemed California indie Burger Records. Between their touring and the second album’s strong reception\, Together Pangea entered the international radar\, and attracted the attention of London’s legendary Harvest Records\, which signed the band in 2013. \nTheir third album (and first for Harvest)\, Badillac\, was released in early 2014. In October 2015\, Together Pangea returned to Burger Records to release the six-song EP The Phage. Produced by former Replacements bassist Tommy Stinson\, the EP also introduced new guitarist Roland Cosio. The group’s next full-length album\, 2017’s Bulls and Roosters\, was co-produced by Badillac’s Andrew Schubert and marked their debut on the Warner-distributed Nettwerk label. Recorded with producers Adrian Olsen (Foxygen\, Natalie Prass) and Vance Powell (Jack White\, Kings Of Leon\, Chris Stapleton)\, the record is blissful and ecstatic\, with a mix of raw electric guitars\, propulsive drums\, and shimmering harmonies that showcases the band’s remarkable live setup—Gorman plays guitar with his hands and synth bass with his feet\, while his musical partner\, Jake Cochran\, plays a standup drum kit\, which captures the scintillating energy that’s fueled their journey. \nGorman and Cochran first met while attending college in Harrisonburg\, VA\, where they discovered a shared passion for sustainable living and community building. After graduation\, they took over a local organic farm\, spending their days tending crops and working farmer’s markets and their nights performing anywhere they could land (or make) a gig. Dubbing themselves the Petrol Free Jubilee Carnival Tour\, the pair would often tour the region on their bikes\, sometimes joined by as many as two dozen other cyclists and artists\, performing at coffee houses\, street corners\, rock clubs\, and off-the-grid communities. \nHailed as “a perfect addition to your summertime playlist” by NPR\, the band honed in on their distinctive sound and identity over years of relentless touring\, earning dates along the way with the likes of Shakey Graves\, Rayland Baxter\, Mt. Joy\, Rainbow Kitten Surprise\, Futurebirds\, and The Head and The Heart in addition to high-profile festival slots at Bonnaroo\, Lollapalooza\, Newport Folk\, and more. We let go of who we were in the past and embrace who we’re meant to be now. The Deslondes have taken such steps as not only bandmates\, but as brothers. The New Orleans quintet—Dan Cutler\, Sam Doores\, Riley Downing\, Cameron Snyder\, and John James Tourville—have weathered ups\, downs\, and everything in\nbetween only to strengthen the bond between them. \nInfusing everything from saxophone\, flute\, and synth to string arrangements and a full drum kit for the first time\, the group naturally progress and evolve in real-time on their third full-length offering\, Ways & Means [New West Records]. “The title reminds me of being young\, getting into the music business\, going through everything\, and coming out of it\,” Riley observes. “We’re taking a look right\, left\, and back at ourselves.” \n“We were letting go of a bunch of old dynamics that left us burnt out\,” adds John James. “However\, we’re focused on being productive and on the other side.” \nThe “other side” might just be their brightest yet. The Deslondes revealed their self-titled debut to widespread tastemaker applause during 2015. However\, they really hit their stride on Hurry Home in 2017. Right out of the gate\, Noisey proclaimed\, “The Deslondes have found a comfortable sound to create art in\, and it serves them well\,” while Rolling Stone noted\, “The Deslondes’ take on country relies on a gritty\, grimy mix of early rock ‘n’ roll and lo-fi R&B.” In addition to praise from American Songwriter\, Paste\, The Boot\, and more\, the record closed out the year on Uncut’s “Favorite Albums of 2017.” \nThen\, the musicians opted to quietly take a break. In the meantime\, Sam shared his self-titled debut as Riley also served up his solo album\, Start It Over. Maybe it was something in the air\, but 2021 seemed like the perfect moment for the boys to pick up where they left off. “I reached out to everybody individually\,” recalls John James. “Dan’s got kids\, and I’ve got kids. We’d been touring for a long time. Once I called\, it seemed like everyone was really into it. We were excited about doing it again.” \n“I was in Lawrence\, KS visiting my folks at the height of the Pandemic\,” Sam remembers. “I was walking down Massachusetts Avenue on a Sunday morning and wondering what I had left to give the world. Perhaps\, I was experiencing a mild existential crisis from living off unemployment and facing the cancellation of my album release tours. Luckily\, my phone rang. John James asked how I’d feel about making another Deslondes record with so much genuine enthusiasm it was contagious. We all owe it to him. Instinctually\, a resounding ‘Hell Yes’ came out of my mouth.” \nMissing the camaraderie\, the guys congregated at old haunt The Tigermen Den. Together\, they worked out the songs before they entered the Bomb Shelter with longtime producer Andrija Tokic. This time around\, members brought in a host of ideas and agreed upon the process before recording. \n“We came to some personal agreements about how everything was going to go down in advance\,” Dan elaborates. “From experience\, we realized what we liked and who was good at what. In terms of the studio\, it was probably the easiest album we’ve ever made. Usually\, we’re too busy touring to put a lot of thought into pre-production and ideas. This was definitely the most prepared we’ve ever been beforehand.” \nThe preparation shines on the likes of the first single “South Dakota Wild One.” On the track\, harmonica wails over acoustic strumming. Simultaneously\, Riley’s grizzled and gruff delivery simmers above a slow burning beat punctuated by a soulful lead. \n“It’s a nostalgic song about getting into music\, traveling\, and running into the special people who were around then\, but aren’t around now\,” notes Riley. Elsewhere\, the opener “Good To Go” saunters on airy electric piano towards a heavenly and hummable saxophone solo. \n“If ‘South Dakota Wild One’ was the beginning of traveling and playing music\, ‘Good To Go’ is where we’re at now\,” Riley continues. “We’re still out here. We’re still good to go. The songs bookend each other.” \nThen\, there’s “Dunes.” A twang-y riff underscores a fifties-style melody as guitar echoes. “It’s about the arc of a love affair—a relationship that went wrong eventually\,” Dan says. “It explores\nthe symmetry of a relationship and how things come full circle in our life.” \nThe dreamy “Five Year Plan” nods to Harry Nilsson with its dusty bliss\, plinking keys\, and cinematic orchestration. Album closer “Hero” takes flight on soaring slide guitar and wistful vocal delivery. \n“I grew up in a real tight-knit family in the country\,” Riley goes in. “We all pitched in to take care of my grandmother at the end of her life. We’re our own heroes to our families and friends. I needed to write the song to remind myself you can be your own hero. If it helps me\, maybe it will help someone else.” \nIn the end\, The Deslondes draw on their own familial union to forge a similar connection with listeners. \n“To us\, this is family\,” John James leaves off. “It’s a part of our lives. When you hear our music\, I hope you feel like you’re hanging out with us. The band’s back together now\, and it just feels good.” \n“Riley\, JJ\, Dan\, and Cam are my brothers\,” Sam concurs. “We’ve all been through so much together. I don’t think any of us will have that experience with another group of people again in our lives. Sometimes\, we drive each other crazy of course\, but we’re family. I’d take a bullet for any of those geezers.” URL:https://www.high-noon.com/event/the-deslondes/ LOCATION:High Noon Saloon\, 701 East Washington Avenue\, Madison\, 53703 ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/jpeg:https://www.high-noon.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/GZ4A2908-scaled.jpg END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART;TZID=America/Chicago:20221001T170000 DTEND;TZID=America/Chicago:20221001T190000 DTSTAMP:20240329T000133 CREATED:20220925T184445Z LAST-MODIFIED:20220925T190606Z UID:7878-1664643600-1664650800@www.high-noon.com SUMMARY:Christopher Gold DESCRIPTION:Catch Christopher Gold on the High Noon Saloon patio before heading over to The Sylvee for the Gary Clark Jr. show!  In the event of unfavorable weather\, this show will be moved inside the High Noon. \n  \nChristopher Gold is a Kentucky-born songwriter living in Wisconsin. Highly influential to many of the bands who have followed in their path\, Agent Orange have always stayed one step ahead. \nTheir strong connection to the Action Sports world has resulted in their music providing the soundtrack to numerous major motion pictures\, video games\, surf and skate films\, television\, and live sports events. \nThe last of the true independents\, Agent Orange have managed to stay true to their roots\, while always moving forward. Powered by a loyal following built up through years of explosive live performances all over the world\, Agent Orange continue to deliver their Fullblown-Supercharged-Punk-Surf Sound on an international basis\, with a never ending schedule of tours in the United States\, Canada\, South America\, Europe\, Australia\, and Japan. \nC’mon down front and expose yourself to Agent Orange. He grew up in the former Soviet Union\, where folk music was the norm and rock’n’roll was illegal. A rebellious streak\, led him to seek out the forbidden music. As soon as it became possible\, Igor left Russia for America with his “Folk’n’Roll” band Limpopo\, and was personally greeted by Ronald Reagan. In 1993\, Limpopo won Ed McMahon’s Star Search and their popularity began to blossom. In 1995\, Igor dreamed that Elvis Presley came to him and told him to start playing rock’n’roll. Igor and his Russian friends became Red Elvises and gave street performances on Santa Monica’s 3rd Street Promenade. As their crowds grew larger\, the City of Santa Monica ordered them to discontinue their street performances. Evolving over the years\, Igor’s music has been labeled “Siberian Surf Rock” which contains humorous lyrics and grooves that forces his audience to dance. Over the past 20 years\, Red Elvises have constantly toured all over the world with occasional breaks to record new music and to participate in film and television projects. \nAs an independent band\, Red Elvises have produced 12 studio albums\, two live albums\, a live concert DVD\, and a Greatest Hits compilation. Some of their most notable film contributions include music and or performances in “Six String Samurai”\, “Mail Order Bride”\, “Armageddon”\, “Skippy”\, “Melrose Place”\, “Fastlane”\, “Penn and Teller’s Sin City Extravaganza”\, “VH-1 Behind the Music”\, and “MTV”. Red Elvises have performed for large festivals\, private parties\, and played on massive stages such as 2005’s Live 8 Benefit Concert. No matter where they perform\, Igor & Red Elvises always bring the party with them. \nFor more biographical information about Red Elvises\, order or download the book “Igor and the Red Elvises” by Marla J. The gold-certified Los Angeles-based singer\, producer\, and multi-instrumentalist channels the spirit of nineties pop-punk through a 21st century lens\, tapping into the unpredictability of hyperpop\, the catharsis of hardcore\, and a whole lot of hip-hop finesse. His debut single “Fast” blew up in a big way during 2019. It captured #1 on TikTok\, #1 on Spotify’s Viral 50 — Global\, and #1 on the Viral 50 — US\, reached gold status\, and attracted Offset and A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie for its high-powered Official Remix. On the heels of his first full-length project MISCREANT\, he teamed up with Ty Dolla $ign\, Wiz Khalifa\, and Lil Yachty for “Speed Of Life\,” Papa Roach on “Swerve” [feat. FEVER 333 & Sueco]\, and Illenium on “Story Of My Life” [feat. Sueco & Trippie Redd]. Along the way\, he kicked off his next chapter\, embracing his earliest influences with producers and cowriters such as John Feldmann [Machine Gun Kelly\, Avril Lavigne\, Jxdn\, 5SOS] and Colin “DOC” Brittain [5SOS\, Papa Roach]. He served up “PRIMADONA\,” “SOS” [feat. Travis Barker]\, “Sober/Hungover” [feat. Arizona Zervas]\, and “Paralyzed.” Spotify’s “New Music Friday” plugged the latter\, and it marked his first entry on Billboard and Rolling Stone charts\, tallying 56 million Spotify streams. After generating nearly 1 billion streams and receiving praise from the likes of Rolling Stone\, NYLON\, Alternative Press\, Billboard and OnesToWatch\, he does the most punk thing of all and encourages everyone to sing and scream along on a series of singles for Atlantic Records in 2022 led by “Loser.” URL:https://www.high-noon.com/event/sueco/ LOCATION:High Noon Saloon\, 701 East Washington Avenue\, Madison\, 53703 ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/jpeg:https://www.high-noon.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Sueco-photo-credit-Jimmy-Fontaine-scaled.jpg END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART;TZID=America/Chicago:20221005T200000 DTEND;TZID=America/Chicago:20221005T200000 DTSTAMP:20240329T000133 CREATED:20220621T204035Z LAST-MODIFIED:20221005T195900Z UID:7582-1665000000-1665000000@www.high-noon.com SUMMARY:William Clark Green DESCRIPTION:Based on the latest local guidelines\, attendees are no longer required to provide proof of negative COVID-19 test AND/OR vaccination for entry into this event. Other shows on our calendar may still have specific health and safety requirements based on artist request.  Be sure to check our venue website for the latest updates and guidelines as entry requirements are subject to change. \n\nABOUT WILLIAM CLARK GREEN \nIn the proudly independent Texas-country scene\, it’s not easy to separate yourself – or to evolve once you have. But for almost 15 years\, William Clark Green has done both with a nod to his home state itself\, both rooted in the past and barreling toward the future. \nBoasting sandpaper vocals and country-rock sound at the crossroads of back-alley grit and gravel-road grace\, the Flint\, Texas\, native emerged like many others before – sauntering out from Lubbock’s live music loving college-bar scene. But he has since carved a space that is uniquely his own. Pairing singer-songwriter tradition with a progressive musical mindset\, he’s both a troubadour of troubled souls and maestro to lyrical mischief\, renowned for underdog anthems filled with sardonic wit\, vivid characters and even historical curiosity. \nOver five previous albums\, multiple Number Ones on Texas Regional Radio have joined iTunes Country Album chart toppers\, the respect of critics and peers and a vibrant touring profile anchored on Texas’ biggest stages. But even after so much success\, two years of treading water left Green looking to get beyond his comfort zone. \n“My whole mentality is that if my voice went out tomorrow\, or I lost my arm and my career ended\, I’ve got nothing but gratefulness\,” Green explains\, flashing his signature sense of dark humor. “But in some ways\, we wanted to reach and see what else is out there. I think the band is ready\, I think I’m ready\, and it’s not really about money or anything. It’s about feeling that high again\, feeling that new-ness.” \nReturning with Baker Hotel\, his sixth studio album and first in almost four years\, Green goes after that new-ness with an open mind\, and the thoughtful approach of roots-rock poet. Just as each album before it\, he continues mixing Lone-Star mythos into his storytelling\, this time occupying an abandoned monument to the past in Mineral Wells\, Texas. But as he hinted above\, Baker Hotel takes his craft to new heights. Even for an artist who’s fans expect the unexpected\, it finds Green raising his game to the proverbial penthouse suite. \nFeaturing 13 tracks and the return of producer Rachel Loy (Rose Queen\, Ringing Road)\, the set taps everything from lush ‘80s pop to classic highway rock and traditional Western balladry\, as  Green seeks out new sonic connections – and probes deeper into his soul than ever. The set arrives after a grueling 2019 tour which featured more than 170 shows\, then the isolation of a pandemic shutdown\, and it’s that push and pull of burnout\, creative detox and almost-meditative rejuvenation that drives the project – all captured through the eyes of a deadpanning interstate philosopher. \n“Songwriting is such a weird deal for me\, because everything I write about is true\,” Green admits. “What this record means to me is self-reflection\, realizing that I just turned 35 and it’s like ‘Where am I at in life? Where do I want to be? Where did I think I would be?’ Not being able to work\, I had a lot of time to sit and think about myself\, and what’s really locking me down\, and that’s what I think this record is about.” \nThe title track best captures the dual nature of that growth. Waiting until early 2021 to record\, Green gathered a small group in his guitar player’s Texas home studio – his first in-state recording since 2010’s Misunderstood – and they simply let the spirit move them. \nCo-written by Green with Ross Copper and Dean Phillips\, “Baker Hotel” checks in with a classic dose of historic whimsy\, landing squarely in the vein of much-loved adventure anthems like “Ringling Road.” But then it builds on precedent\, adding in a strutting rockabilly groove. \nNow dilapidated\, but still towering 14 stories over Mineral Wells\, the real-life Baker Hotel was once among the nation’s most illustrious\, hosting everyone from Bonnie & Clyde to Marilyn Monroe and Ronald Regan. Green’s tribute likewise toasts the local tradition of sneaking in and climbing to the top\, and with plans to revitalize it underway\, his spooky-roots barnstormer salutes the past as a new age arrives. \nElsewhere\, however\, Green’s not working off any playbook at all. Recording freshly written songs\, sometimes penned just the day before\, Green and his team felt free to roam. Some of his most challenging vocal performances are joined by in-the-moment arrangements\, including craggy country rockers drenched in steel guitar\, barstool ballads and two-steppers built for packed venues all across the nation – plus orchestral strings and the fat-bottomed bass lines of daydreamy plains pop. \nEach new track is almost like a different guest in the Baker Hotel itself\, as Green explores themes of evolution in myriad ways. \n“I think the entire COVID quarantine\, it was about breaking out of chains to get back to normal on the outside\, but also in an inner way\, too\,” he says. “It’s just a way different observation on myself and the world than I’ve ever had before.” \nThe high-flying “Feel Alive” may be project’s spiritual focus. Soaring with optimistic determination and a vocal that approaches the heavens\, it’s the joyful sound of a soul opening up. With tracks like the confessional “Getting Drunk\,” a lifelong good-timer wonders what he’s trying to drown out. And “Leave Me Alone” finds a guy arguing with himself in head spinning hill-country pop. \nMeanwhile\, “Dog Song” pairs Green’s sly humor with a funky\, four-legged foundation and a charming romantic turnaround. “Me\, Her and You” dresses a classic-Western heartbreaker in stunning strings. “All You Got” writhes with ‘90s alternative rock frustration\, and “Give a Damn” shimmers like the last rays of a West Texas sunset\, somehow feeling both empty and electrifying. \nNo\, it’s no small feat to grow while staying true to who you are … and for a proud Texan\, true to where you’ve been. But if the last year-plus has taught him anything\, it’s that the future is uncertain – so live fearlessly and blaze new trails while you can. \n“I’m so fired up to go\, its ‘Like let’s see where the road leads?’” he says. “I don’t have any kind of constraints\, and that is bad ass.” URL:https://www.high-noon.com/event/william-clark-green/ LOCATION:High Noon Saloon\, 701 East Washington Avenue\, Madison\, 53703 ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/jpeg:https://www.high-noon.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/WilliamClarkGreen-HNS-Web.jpg END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART;TZID=America/Chicago:20221006T200000 DTEND;TZID=America/Chicago:20221006T200000 DTSTAMP:20240329T000133 CREATED:20220531T151606Z LAST-MODIFIED:20220531T152537Z UID:7543-1665086400-1665086400@www.high-noon.com SUMMARY:Reverend Horton Heat DESCRIPTION:Based on the latest local guidelines\, attendees are no longer required to provide proof of negative COVID-19 test AND/OR vaccination for entry into this event. Other shows on our calendar may still have specific health and safety requirements based on artist request.  Be sure to check our venue website for the latest updates and guidelines as entry requirements are subject to change. \n  URL:https://www.high-noon.com/event/reverend-horton-heat/ LOCATION:High Noon Saloon\, 701 East Washington Avenue\, Madison\, 53703 ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/jpeg:https://www.high-noon.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/RHH-HNS-900x600-WEB.jpg END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART;TZID=America/Chicago:20221007T213000 DTEND;TZID=America/Chicago:20221007T233000 DTSTAMP:20240329T000133 CREATED:20220909T150047Z LAST-MODIFIED:20220907T211905Z UID:7849-1665178200-1665185400@www.high-noon.com SUMMARY:Mission Trip Album Release DESCRIPTION:  \n\nCOVID-19 POLICY\nBased on the latest local guidelines\, attendees are no longer required to provide proof of negative COVID-19 test AND/OR vaccination for entry into this event. Opting to play as many live shows as possible rather than record\, the group has become a staple of the Madison DIY scene over the past year. In the dark basements of Madison’s house shows\, the five-piece has honed a unique sound that blends 90’s-influenced post punk with shoegaze\, art punk\, and modern indie. For Brandon Hardesty\, lead vocals and guitar\, it was a simple time\, but one that taught him lessons that stay with him today as he leads the band into the 2020s. One was that he would do whatever it took for him and his band to be successful. Another was in discovering that doing it his way was the only way\, which still applies today. Bumpin Uglies do things their way\, free to play\, think\, and write however they feel\, critics and the mainstream music industry be damned. \nIn the early days\, Hardesty was hustling waiting tables while stoking his musical fire with every minute of free time he had. A point came years ago when he knew it was time to put up or shut up if he was going to make a career as a musician\, so he dug into doing all of the things it takes to grow Bumpin Uglies from a grassroots local band into a nationally touring act. It took a tireless DIY ethic; and it still does\, but if Brandon did not have the singular focus on breaking through and achieving his musical dreams\, the story of Bumpin Uglies wouldn’t be what it is today. \nBumpin Uglies are a band that have hoisted themselves up and forged their own path\, but even as they look around at where they are\, how far they have come\, it is clear to them that there is so much more work to do and they continue to do it every day. With the help of bassist Dave “Wolfie” Wolf\, drummer TJ Haslett and keyboardist / master shredder Chad Wright\, they are doing just that. \nBumpin Uglies recently came off the road\, having to cancel their spring tour due to COVID-19. Brandon and the boys have been keeping their rabid fan group “Uglies Nation” entertained with full band live streams\, hosting socially distant concerts and even a few Drive-In concerts until the world slowly gets back to a place where Bumpin Uglies can tour once again. \nFresh off the successful release of full length\, “Keep your suitcase packed.”\, they are in the midst of a new project called “The Never Ending Drop.” The concept is simple\, yet groundbreaking.. \n“For the last ten years\, we’ve been on what feels like the never ending tour. So in a year where the tour is forced to stop\, we decided to double down on the music making portion of our job description\,” Hardesty explains. The band released their first single\, “Fear\,” in October and plans to release a single per month indefinitely on the second Friday of each month. Be sure to check out the new material on Spotify or wherever you stream music. \nWho is Bumpin Uglies? \nBrandon Hardesty – Vocals\, Guitar\nDave Wolf – Vocals\, Bass\nTJ Haslett – Drums\nEthan Lichtenberger – Keys URL:https://www.high-noon.com/event/bumpin-uglies/ LOCATION:High Noon Saloon\, 701 East Washington Avenue\, Madison\, 53703 ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/jpeg:https://www.high-noon.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/DSC_8753-1-scaled.jpg END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
