Dick Dale
Guitar Legend Dick Dale reigns across the decades as the undisputed king of Rock! In Dale's own words, "Real Rock Music is instrumental, characterized by heavy staccato picking on a Fender Stratocaster guitar.” Only guitarist to play lefthanded upside down and backwards all the way. Moreover, it's best played through a Fender Showman Amp — a model built to spec for Dale by Leo Fender himself as well as the Strat Guitar for Fender and
Amps/Speakers meaning also JBL Lansing Speakers in the late 1950s+60s.
Dick and Leo Fender Created and Pioneered The Fender Equipment in the 1950s/1960s.
Dick Ignited California's Surfing cult as well as Dick played all kinds of music in the late 1950s and 1962’s Misirlou an Arabic Love song which was in the film with Dick performing this Classic hit “A Swingin Affair” ..Dick also had hits like "Pump it", Black eyed Peas. Also, with such regional hits as “Mr. Peppermint Man”, “King of the Surf Guitar”, “Let’s Go Trip-pin'," "Surf Beat" and "Miserlou,” “Nitro” and Many others.
Guitar Legend Dick Dale Made waves with his fat, edgy sound and aggressive, proto-metal attack. As well "Miserlou," released in 1962, marked the first use of a Fender reverb unit — creating Dick’s sound which only came from his idol Gene Krupa’s Jungle Drum Rhythms and his Animals at the time, The Wild Animals Roaring as well as the Indegenous people dancing. People thought it was underwater sounds with lots of echo — on the popular record Surfers Choice.
DD was named the second most influential guitarist on the planet as Dick’s Wife/Manager/Agent Lana Dale receives over 2500+ Emails and Letters to this day and Answers every single Letter Religiously.
DD did surf in the day but some of the music was classified as Surfing type music however,
the title King of the Surf Guitar was only given to Dick by 17 Local Surfers that surfed with him and not by the Business. They did use the title for a Record/CD a couple of times.
Dick’s music Sparked a surf/Rock music revival when director Quentin Tarantino used it in the opening scene to the Master Hit Pulp Fiction as Quentin Loved Dick Dale and said he was the Greatest Musician of all time.
Quentin used Dick’s music to created the masterpiece of the move in 1993.
Dick is the Master and always will be as he Created and Pioneered Surf/Rock Music in 1955 marking 61+ years in the business.
Dick plays and performs all kinds of music since 1955 age 18 ..When Dick started on Town Hall Party with all the Legendary Country-Rockabilly Greats.
Dick once owned two of the largest nightclubs in Southern California which he built ground up from scratch in 1967 …The one Nightclub was called the Rendezvous 2 and the second was called Playgirl Club. Both were runned by Dick Dale as he hired the largest acts of the day in Las Vegas and as well performed in both nightclubs even cooked for the DD Music Lovers and Customers too.
Dick plays over 15 different instruments self taught as he taught Jimi Hendrix the Slide before Jimi Became Jimi Hendrix.
Dick’s Wife and Love of his Entire Life Lana Dale runs the business.
Dick is 79 years old. His Wife Lana Dale is a Marvel at Managing Dick’s Career and is a doing PR for Dick Dale all over the World as well as Creating all of the Dick Dale Merch items over the years. I am told there are over 256 items.
Lana Dale also does all of the Filming and Photography for all Dick Dale events.
Sadly Both Dick and Lana Dale Battle Major Medical Issues and have for well over 20+ years now.
