SunSquabi: A Hydro Funk Experience

SunSquabi has launched out of 2016 with HUGE momentum on their side. With festival announcements such as Electric Forest, Summer Camp, Camp Bisco, High Sierra announced already the band has reached the National spotlight.

The Colorado trio has quickly become one of the premier up-and-coming acts in the live electronic/jam world. SunSquabi is set to release their debut EP with GRiZ's All Good Records on April 8th. The 8-track Odyssey takes you on an epic musical journey that features tracks with artists GRiZ and Big Gigantic's Dominic Lalli.

SunSquabi continues to break down and analyze the expectations of what a "Live-Electronic" band should be. SunSquabi is dedicated to their ever-evolving craft in the studio and on the live stage. It's no wonder the twentysomethings in SunSquabi are gaining national attention for their unique sound. The band has multiple answers when asked to describe their sound, but most often describe it as an Electronic Hydro Funk Experience.

"Sunsquabi makes it look easy -- so groovy & smooth!" - All Good Records
Beak Nasty
Beak Nasty is a duo consisting of producer/turntablist Ryland Sabien (Beaker) and drummer/percussionist Phil Ade (Foxy Dope) who combine the sounds of hip hop and intense bass lines to create futuristic chill funk/electro soul music.

The project began when Beaker started releasing beats in high school while living in rural northwest Wisconsin. In 2010 halfway through his junior year of high school, he moved to Minneapolis to get more directly involved in the scene and began DJing and producing for hip hop acts Future Fossils (formerly Kids Like Us), Allan Kingdom, Finding Novyon, and a slew of other Minneapolis emcees. He started attending McNally Smith College of Music during his senior year of high school and put out the ablums "When it Rains, it Pours" in 2011 and "The Expanding Universe" in 2013 along with collaborations, singles, and remixes.

Shorty after the release of his third album "Chill Funk Files Vol. 1" in July 2013, Beaker changed the name of the project to Beak Nasty. Right around the same time, Foxy Dope moved to minneapolis and the duo connected almost instantly. Phil informed Ryland that he would now be drumming for him and since then, they’ve been playing non stop shows, house parties, and festivals all around the country.

In August 2015, they released the 6 track EP "The World is Real" and left Minneapolis to find some new inspiration out in Colorado. Over the winter, they went on their first headlining national tour hitting 20+ dates spreading the word of chill funk far and wide. Now, after a summer of crushing festivals and rocking the stage with some of biggest names in the game, the duo are hard at work on new material and plotting new ways to “passez le funk”. (That’s French for spread the funk.)
