No Hoax
No Hoax
Madison's most promising and powerful new live band! Punk that veers toward speed metal, thrash and even space rock at times.....but it never derails from punchy and perfect rhythmic execution!
Pachinko
Pachinko
The much maligned and misunderstood Pachinko, just want you to know that all the rumors about them pummeling and beating up people everywhere they go are just dirty rotten lies! In fact, Pachinko are just regular 'ol guys from the Midwest. Madison, Wisconsin to be more precise. It is true that Brian, Pachinko's strapping lead singer, put a notoriously evil club promoter in the hospital (elevating him to hometown hero status!).

Pachinko have appeared on numerous seven inches on Rhetoric, Bovine and Skin Graft Records. But in the six years Pachinko have been plugging away, no one has been able to agree on their sound. "The indie rock aficionados say we're a "noise band," while most hipsters into the distorto-noise thing try to write us off as a punk band and most punk rock factions don't know what the hell to make of us," says Brian. When we at Alternative Tentacles heard their dirgy ditties, we swooned and asked them to do a seven inch right away! The end result was the Diablo en Senorita Pachinko 7" which more than sufficiently showcases their "wielding rock like it was a weapon" - talents. This was but a taste of what was to come. Their debut full length, Behind the Green Pachinko, is an eardrum-pummeling onslaught the likes of which any genre has never heard! Pachinko have been playing out with the likes of Zeni Geva and Tribe 8, and are awaiting the opportunity to damage more eardrums on tour again.

In 2000 they released their Splendor In The Ass II; Electric Boogaloo and toured Europe!

If you want to know what a thousand disgruntled U.S. postal employees sound like with guitars strapped to their tummies, don't miss Pachinko!
Droids Attack
Droids Attack
Madison impresario and retro arcade game fanatic Brad Van started Droids Attack back in 2000 and has been its driving force ever since. Obsessed with tone, great riffs and a cohesive vision, Van created the music that is Sci-Fi Or Die after being courted by an independent label on the heels of their 2011 release, Must Destroy. After a few tours and some amazing opportunities, Van was determined to continue the band's forward momentum into the next release, and began the writing process in earnest. In a little over a year's time, a body of work was amassed. It was 2013.

Sci-Fi Or Die was demoed shortly thereafter with the expertise of Jon Terrones (The Suit, The Book-Burners) at his Internet chat room-famous basement studio, Chez Woo. As fate would have it, this would be Droid’s last session with beloved long time bassist Nate Bush (Bongzilla, The Garza). Not to be deterred, the band acquired their old friend, Dennis Ponozzo (Below The Sound, Sinking Suns) to fill in, and the bass tracks were re-demoed with great success. However, after a short national tour, and a slew of regional shows Dennis could no longer make time for Droids, and the search for a replacement was on once again. Van, at a crossroads, needed someone solid to handle bass duties, so he set his sights on another good friend. Local legend, Darwin Sampson, owner of one of Madison's most well known and much respected music venues, The Frequency.

Mark Whitcomb (Things Fall Apart, Last Crack) was chosen to engineer and record Sci-Fi Or Die, and in February of 2014 Droids Attack laid down the majority of the disc's foundation at DNA Studios in Madison, Wisconsin. Immediately following the sessions, the guitars were re-recorded, vocals done and redone, heaping layers of percussion, keyboards, and obligatory sax solos added. Songs were mixed, new studio gear was purchased, and new sonic avenues were discovered. Songs were re-evaluated and more guitars were re-recorded before being remixed. It was all scrutinized down to the last note before being sent off to Masterdisk to be mastered by Roger Lian (Slayer, Pantera), who mastered and remastered it a couple of times before everything... felt... right.

Brad Van's uncompromising vision has borne a rich landscape of titanic riffs and an apocalyptic alien landscape. At long last, the CD is no longer science fiction.
Transformer Lootbag
Transformer Lootbag
Matt Abplanalp, Steve Riches and Ricky Riemer have been making music together since high school, and in early 1996 they assembled themselves as a three-piece band named Transformer Lootbag. Always looking for new sounds and ways to combine them, the band writes angular music using their instruments in unconventional fashions and labyrinths for arrangements, but their songs sound more effortless and catchy than complicated. Over the years the band has released its puzzles of sound on internationally distributed compilations, singles and home-produced recordings and has enjoyed playing shows with bands such as Mike Watt, U.S. Maple, Mudhoney, Deerhoof, Melt Banana, Sicbay, The Flying Luttenbachers and Numbers at various venues around the Midwest. In 2003 TLB recorded themselves and released their self-titled, nine-song debut album-- the only full-length that made it out of their enormous hidden vault of material.
The Garza
The Garza
Members of Pachinko/Bongzilla/Striking Irwin/Brainerd/Droids Attack that play muzik.
PowerWagon
PowerWagon
POWERWAGON began loud and ugly in the then funk obsessed town of Madison, WI. back in 1991 with Jeff (GREEN RIVER) on guitar and vocals, Patrick Lenling on drums, and a stinky Pollock named Dennis (Pennis) Wasielewski on bass. We modeled ourselves after MUDHONEY and NIRVANA and played a few new band nites and parties. This was short lived as Pat moved back home. Later a friend, Greg Hein (a Pharmacy major), joined after a half dozen shots of jager. We then proceded (with the help of other bands like Camel Toe and Pachinko) to seek out and destroy all funk heads and hangs (including O'cayz Corral) with our brand of loud, drunken, fuzzed-out jams. We put out a 7"on a local punk/noise label, Bovine Records, in '93 and followed with a full-length CD-LOWERLIFE FORMS- on the short lived O'cayz label, PINECONE, in '95. The next year saw a split 7" release with Iowa's EXIT, also on PINECONE. This would be the final release of PW's classic lineup as Dennis relocates to Austin,Tx. to finish his degree in mathmatics. River was recruited to play 2nd guitar for Michael Gerald's Party Machine aka KILLDOZER until the band played it's final shows called the "Fuck You We Quit" tour. Powerwagon would continue on as River moved to Milwaukee to join Heiner (a Milw. native) and returning alumni, Lenling, on bass duties, releasing another 7" on their own,Tri-Lateral/Foxy label in 2000.
