UNINTIMIDATED: Wisconsin Musicians Against Scott Walker
UNINTIMIDATED: Wisconsin Musicians Against Scott Walker
UNINTIMIDATED: Wisconsin Musicians Against Scott Walker is a CD and DVD project featuring 16 bands and their anti-Scott Walker protest songs. In August of 2015, 13 of these bands each had two hours to bang out a song at Howl Street Recordings in Milwaukee, with as much live tracking and overdubs they could fit into the two hours. The sessions were filmed and the result is the UNINTIMIDATED CD and DVD, with accompanying zine filled with lyric sheets and propaganda! All four bands on this bill contributed to the project - Body Futures and Heavy Hand participated in the Howl Street Weekend while Damsel Trash and Venus in Furs contributed independently recorded material.

Proceeds from this show and from the sale of UNINTIMIDATED (on sale at the show!) will benefit Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin and the UW-Madison Teaching Assistants' Association.
Venus in Furs
Venus in Furs
Gritty, dance-able surf punk. Venus in Furs creates a fast tempo, mostly instrumental party of sound that is influenced both by post-punk and classic surf rock music. The group, recently upgraded from a trio to a quad, serve up this sound with a highly energetic stage show, that will get you dancing. Since the band's inception, they've prioritiezed performance, making shows shows engaging and fun. After teaming up a little over two years ago, they've since hit the Madison rock scene full tilt, playing with the likes of Girl in a Coma, The Red Elvises, The Koffin Kats, MEN and Knuckel Drager and at other exotic locations such as Milwaukee, Green Bay, Chicago and La Crosse.
Body Futures
Body Futures
Body Futures’ members have no shortage of experience: Jacobs was a member of the avant-pop combo White, Wrench, Conservatory, while Hostettler records and tours extensively as drummer for noise-pop combo IfIHadAHiFi. Wojtasiak played with Milwaukee stalwarts Five Mod Four as well as owning and operating No Karma Records, and Maury was a founding member of the well-regarded Everybody at Midnight.

Body Futures formed in the summer of 2012, and spent the following year writing and rehearsing, prior to their live debut in 2013. Plans were immediately set in motion to set their songs down on tape, and, following an agreement with Latest Flame Records, the band entered Milwaukee’s Howl Street Studios with the justly renowned Shane Hochstetler during the soon-to-be-legendary Polar Vortex of 2014 to record what would become “Brand New Silhouettes.”

“Brand New Silhouettes” is scheduled for release on August 12, prior to which Body Futures intend to take to the Midwest highways for a number of live dates. Every genuine music fan should avail themselves of the opportunity to experience their live show, if at all possible. Believe me, you will not regret it.
Heavy Hand
Heavy Hand
Heavy Hand is a band from Milwaukee comprised of Anthony Weber, Isa Carini, and Christopher Roberts.
Damsel Trash
Damsel Trash
Damsel Trash sprang fully-formed from the skull of Madison-based alt-country outfit Little Red Wolf; the raucous, outrageous, filthy-minded offspring that has nothing in common with its progenitor other than sharing two of its members (Meghan Rose and Emily Mills).

DT is all frenetic punk energy with a twist of trash funk, deeply feminist, tongue-in-cheek, and absolutely committed to letting their freak flag fly.

They'd be at home in the company of bands like Bikini Kill, Deap Vally, the Hussy, Dead Kennedys, Peaches, Sleater Kinney, and Iggy & the Stooges.

Live shows are the way to go - come get filthy with us!
